who will be William blount next head coach?

Recommended Posts

My only concern is that the longer this lingers on the worse things will be for William Blount next year. Messing around till April to find a coach won't give anyone much time to do anything regarding next year. If there is someone already picked behind the scenes then they need to quit horsing around and get going. Time is a thing you can't get back once you lose it and time is what it will take to get this program going in the right direction. I'm pulling for you guys to put the right man in place but always remember "While Nero fiddled, Rome burned". Quit fiddling around and name a coach. It's not like all this talk just suddenly appeared out of the blue yesterday.

In all honesty, and I'm not trying to put WB down in anyway, what coach would be interested in the job. WB has to play an even tougher schedule this year with the addition of science hill, DB, and alcoa with more travel time and expense. Ridge said in the paper that the new coach would inherit the old staff, so there's no chance to bring in additional coaches. His new boss would be the previous head coach, which could potentially cause some issues. And I saw on the Blount county website that the only teaching job they have in the building is a special Ed job. Every football coach I ever had was a PE coach. Special Ed is an extremely time consuming position and requires ten times the work of a normal teacher.

Coach Story and GQ taught Drivers Ed. Years before I was at MHS Coach Story taught Spanish. Edited by rebelwoman87

I had Coach Story for Spanish and Benny Monroe for Drivers Ed.  Yes, I long time ago.

Surely, there are other teaching jobs somewhere in the county system other than Special Ed. Does the new coach have to teach at WBHS?  If finding a Special Ed qualified head football coach is a must, it might be hard. (BTW, Scott Cummings at West High School taught Special Ed.  Always admired him for that!)

    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
