Hville wins the Region 5 title beating WC 13-5. After WC took a 3-1 lead to the bottom of the 2nd the Commandos put up a 7 spot capped by Grant Williams grand slam. After WC narrowed it to 9-5 in the 6th the Commandos put up 4 capped by a bases clearing triple by Austin Brown. Wacaser went 5 plus on the mound and was followed by McMaster and Dorris. The Commandos now advance to the sectional hosting Centennial Friday night at home. Great job guys!

Wednesday night will be a huge night for the teams. Teams will be playing for more than just home field...they will be playing to avoid certain arms for certain teams

 

Sounds a lot  like what those 2 girls basketball teams were doing in Murfreesboro a few months ago. :huh:

Great night for Commando nation last night as Coach Mike Hendrix and team defeated Centennial 3-1 to advance to the state tournament. Grant Williams tossed a 4 hitter and Braden Schwerdt had a clutch 2 run single to propel the team to its 1st state tournament appearance since 2003. After the game the 10 seniors who missed their graduation earlier in the evening graduated on the field. Great job guys, see you in the Boro on Tuesday!

Not an ideal situation for the final spot in AAA for the state as Arlington and Houston are slated to start at 1pm today. It has rained heavily in the Memphis area all morning. The question is what happens if they cannot finish today? Do they go ahead and draw?

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
