Um who had more rushing yards? That is 99% of the time the more physical up front. I believe SM 250+ and EH less than 30. Obviously SM didn't have skill guys or depth to compete with EH and they were the better TEAM, but they were not the more physical in the trenches. If you couldn't see that your an idiot!

Signal is a Wing-T team running the ball 40+ times per game. 230 yards rushing isn't much for a team that exclusively runs the football.

Goose egg 2nd half except for last second trash score, don't how else to explain it. Can't get much more physical than NOT letting someone score but if it makes your loss a little easier to take then you can have it your way. Your firstt two series on offense is all you have. We adjusted, you didn't, we won, you didn't. But yeah yall physically kicked our a**.......for two (2) series in the first HALF. if 2 offensive series equates to kicking our a** the whole game, then yeah I guess I would be an idiot.

16 point difference might be "right" in your signal homer mind, but anyone else that watched it would probably disagree.  sm's first team offense scored on EH's second team defense with 1.8 seconds left in the game.     The long plays that were called back were NOT penalties AT ALL, much less "clear cut".  EH didn't go on to score on at least one of those possessions where Uncle Ref bailed you out.  EH's ones WERE NOT gassed in the 4th quarter, however, signal's ones WERE, in fact, GASSED.

Signal had 5-7 kids go down with cramps while EH had 0 go out with cramps... How is signal the "better conditioned team"?  I guess you're grasping for something positive to pull from this, but you weren't watching the same game that was played tonight or those rose-colored glasses you're wearing have skewed your reality.

Btw, noticed a fair share of crab grass and weeds.  Might want to get your mower blades checked.  And what's up with your HC declining an interview after the game?

Well, well…... I'm glad that you were please with that win, so let me give you a nugget. You beat a team with an above average line but very limited skill players. There were only 3 skill players that actually started last year or played any time past a mercy rule minute. Of these three players, only one was playing both ways thus giving the Eagles a minimum of five completely green skill players on each side of the ball. You lost up front but won in the secondary. If this win is your measuring stick, I bet you drive a Corvette or a Porsche. Good luck for the rest of the season, because with what I saw you will DEFINATLEY need it.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses to me. Your defensive line got pushed around. Watch the film. You blitzed the house. You had more than EH could block. LB's made tackles. That's why EH threw the ball. Throwing the ball is part of the game. And you couldn't cover or run with EH's players. Check EH's record at the end of the season and we will see who's right. I tend to ignore the opinions of excuse makers and losers.

You can keep your luck and your "nuggets", sweetheart. No one will need it more than Signal this year. Try not to let Ooltewah burn your Eagle's Nest down on Friday.

how do you figure that, sm was shut out second half but was more physical? Ok

Signal scored twice in the 2nd half, one against the Canes #1's and then again late against the #2's. Score was still 14-6 with less than 3 minutes to go in third...mental & physical fatigue took a toll on the Eagles. Hard to play 6 to 7 kids both ways (4 I'm not sure ever came off the field) for four quarters.

Not making excuses about the loss, I'm proud of the effort the Eagles gave.

Great game plan by CW, we just couldn't stay with the EH's skill players...especially with a defensive backfield that was playing for the first time.

Just hope we can get everyone healthy by league play and no one gets hurt against the Owls. CPB did not do Signal any favors with the schedule he left for them.

You are correct on the scoring, my mistake. Yes, you and others are making excuses. Before the game in this very thread it was stated they would not have too much trouble going both ways due to the conditioning they went thru this summer which coincidentally was a reason so many guys quit the team. Anyway good luck with your new coach, making a real good impression early in his career here in Chatt. Now focus on the Owls and put this thread out of its misery.
