South Pittsburg vs sequatchie (Grider against that Caine man)

That is because no one would hit the back jumping over the line like a hurdle up the middle out of the triple option. it was still a close game. They found out how to limit Lehr . . . keep him on the side lines! Dunlap was AA in the old 3 class scheme and it shouldn't really have been close. I never could figure out why those Seq teams didn't do well in the playoffs. It seems like Chicken County kept messing them up.

85, 6-4, lost to a good Smith County team in first round.

86, 4-6 but did beat South Pitt. Lost to Bledsoe by 1 and Chattanooga Central by 2. Only had 4 seniors but set up a good season the next year.

87, 8-2, beat Marion 34-0. Again beaten by Smith County in first round 21-7.

88, started out slowly at 1-3, beat Marion, finished 9-4 with a loss to Alcoa in quarterfinals, 24-14.

89, 9-1 regular season, lost to Kingston in quarterfinals with a touchdown in the final minute. Kingston lost to Alcoa on a score in the final minute. Shut out Smith County in first round, Rankin’s last game there.

90, 10-0. Beat Marion 7-6. Lost in quarterfinals to Gatlinburg Pittman. Just an awful matchup up front, much more size including at fullback and tail back.

91. 4-6. Only 3 seniors and one of those started the season injured. Did beat Grundy and South Pittsburg.

92. 8-2. Very good defensive team had 6 shutouts. Lost to Tyner and Marion in the regular season so didn’t make the playoffs (2 teams made it from each district).

93. 9-1. Lost to Marion in regular season. Lost to Sweewater in quarterfinals (state champ team).

07 was on another level man! I think they could have won the 2A classification man!

Might have been the best team SP has ever had except for JW and the gang in 69. This old geezer watched all the state games with the sunshine band in person in 07. They would have been able to hang with Alcoa for maybe a half, and then the tornadoes would have pulled away. That Tyner team you guys beat got mashed by DCA and then DCA got shut out and obliterated by Alcoa. Also Tyrone, guess you took a couple to many licks to the head like Ambassadors punching bag, in 95 Marion County went 15-0 and won the championship. One more year you are forgetting is in 2008. That team gave Alcoa all it wanted and more and would have no doubt won the state championship if they made it. Best team Marion has had since 95. Then there was last year's team, which you referenced, that was the second best team MC has had since 95. And that Tyner team SP beat was a little above average. They weren't mediocre by no means. Almost beat the 3A state runner up Fulton team.

Vic's strategy for winning this year will be the same as it has always been, toss left and toss right for 40 times a game, mix in the misdirection once or twice a game when the backers are getting undisciplined and that equals a win. This old geezer says if it ain't broke don't fix it. SP out runs the injuns on Friday night.

You haven't watched a lot then because he routinely doesn't run as many sweep plays as you might think.

All I want to know is are we still playing Friday night?  Jasper has changed their Hixson game about 10 times in the last 24 hours, supposedly because of a wet field.  Great day in the morning....when did teams start changing game times because of a wet field?  If that were true Boyd would never have a home game.  We built a boat in case of a wet field. I smell politics.

i was trying to remember your huge TE from the mid 90's. I think he went on to play college ball maybe at UTC? I was thinking your QB during that time went on to play basketball at Chatt StaTe? Edited by PiRaTe._.MiKe
