Too funny. News flash...jamborees don't mean anything.

here is another news flash.Macon is awful and smith county had less than 40 yards total offence in the first half and did not score in the first half.yes smith did come out and play a good second half but to only beat macon by 6 ant saying much as bad as they are,I'd say uncle jimmy new what he was doing when he jumped ship.not going to be a real good year for the owls and even worse for the tigers.

Yeah...too bad you have to play two halves. One thing for sure...It's better to beat MC than to lose to them...lol.

SC 20 -MC 14. Good win for SC we did not play well at all first half. King may be best player in district. I am not sure we score without him. Congrats to Owls.

Good win but only 20 points? Macon's D has been notoriously atrocious the past couple seasons. Other than Grundy and Cannon, could be the worst D you see all season.

20 was enough. SC score all 20 in the 2nd half. They had another chance but threw a pick deep in MC territory late. SC shot themselves in the foot in the first half with mistakes and penalties. They cleaned that up in the 2nd half. Carlilse is a very good player. He is the real deal for a soph.

I will agree with that Carlilse is good. That is to be expected first game of the season. Sounds like King should have a big season too if SC's run game is good enough to keep defenses honest.

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
