That was duffs decision. He had prior plans for Saturday night. The crowd started small but grew pretty well into the first qtr.

Are you joking? Dont blame that mess on that durn Duff man. The SOS claimed his field was under water but I think that was a bunch of mess. You better take old pirates advice and get unhypmotized. You think im joking but im not.

Old Pirate says them fellers that spoke of Jasper's game Saturday laughs at fan denials of low turnout for the noon time kickoff of the season. Had the game been Thursday or Friday the crowd undoubtably would have been a lot better supported. Question, do you think it was a good idea? Then the MS was canceled causing a HEEP of parents to be real mad cause Junior didn't get to play! You fellers will be asking/begging for a HEEP more money from the little league and businesses if this mess continues! Old Pirate ain't joking neither Edited by OLD PIRATE

Talking about empty seats......Old Pirate was told the Jasper stands were only 1/2 capacity Saturday! If you even went, you knows them fellers weren't tricking OP. Now as for SP even thou the team is young the Speedway was full! LOPAO......

What ever Master Snakehandler. I was at both games.  SP home stands were as full as MC vistor stand on Sat.  Once again your really holdin yer own on the cage rattlin.

Snakerattler, Let's see how many SP fans show up in a couple weeks or better yet how many are there after half time. Less than when the lights went out I spect.

Old Pirate says probably similar to the grand exits by you Jasper fellers when the Pirates lead by The Captain was earholing you kinfolkes causing you fellers to drop a HEEP of Rose Colored Glasses. It got so bad some starting painting the field house orange & black. Edited by OLD PIRATE

    • Worst thing SC could do is get rid of Dyer. I agree with everything said above.
    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war.We had some quality wins this summer. Beat Huntingdon, Henry County, Bowling Green, Liitle Rock Central as well as a couple other quality Kentucky Teams. Westview's talent pool may not be what it has been without transfers the next few.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
