Chatt Central at Soddy

Well....Central has the athletes to somewhat compete.  But....Bloodsaw runs sweep right, sweep left, up the middle.  Typical middle school/rec ball football.  Then the defensive scheme kicked in.  4-2 was what it seemed.  That leaves the short passes across the middle all day long.  Honestly if ND had not been sloppy they could have won by 50.  Its sad too because Central has some good players.

Thus...Soddy 48

Central.........14  (maybe)

Be safe boys.

I was at the game Friday. Both teams had 1st game jitters...ND fumbles and throws an interception but Central couldn't take advantage. Especially being inside 5yard line with no points to show. When score was 15-6 I thought Pounders had a chance.

Anyway Soddy will probably win but you are right, Central has athletes.

I thought that Central ran the ball pretty effectively. They just can't throw the ball at all!! This will prove to be an Achilles heel all season. Soddy is coming off a impressive win over Red Bank. Wanna see the Carter kid play. He is a legit D1 talent in football if he doesn't get drafted in baseball. The Pounders defense won't be able to stop Soddys passing attack. This game could get out of hand quick if Centrals red zone struggles continue.

If central has athletes like you say, then would it not make sence to spread out the defense to create running lanes and maybe make some short passes or WR screens out wide instead of running the dang wishbone where the defense stacks 9 or 10 in the box. Carter I believe it was is who called the offense last night for the JV game and the wishbone got nothing....but they moved the ball and scored from the spread offense to win the game

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
