ThatRadioGuy, I don't mean to downplay Central but what have they done to not deserve 8th place? Just saying...finished last every year and we have no reason to expect otherwise this year.

Don't get me wrong...I like a good upset as the next guy but do you really think Central could move out of the cellar this year?

I understand the years past. I also understand this isn't a popular pick. Central played Dekalb tight last year for the first three quarters. The only difference is that Central gained a couple of young players, Birchfield and Carver,  that can put the ball in the basket (something Central hasn't really had before). Dekalb on the other hand, lost Aaron Patterson who was not very good, but he was the life of that team. And did not make any big additions this year.

I understand the addition of new players but if they are freshman....you really think they can make that big of a difference in 8AA? Unless they are large in stature I find it hard to believe 2 freshman are going to change the fortunes of a CM team that has been terrible for too many years.

No, I don't believe the two freshman will change the fortunes of the team and make them a legitimate 8AA force. I'm simply comparing two teams with low expectations and saying the two freshman will make them slightly better than another bad team.

I saw both of them play a bit in Watertown on 11/7 and based on that information I would give CM the advantage. I have no idea what impact football player may have on either or if they will. Just going by what I saw CM had the size advantage on that day and appeared too be more athletic. Let me add that was the first time I add seen either of them play.

Van buren plays at Jackson county tonight

Jackson county handled Van Buren with ease tonight. When I left they were up 22 points with 4 mins left in the game. I expected JC to be pretty good but I didn't see this coming. I know it's early and anything can happen on your home court but still didn't see this. JC will be hard to deal with if they play like this all season.
