The game was late in the 3rd quarter and the score was LA 28 York 26. It was 4th and 4 for York at York's OWN 24 yard line. There was PLENTY of time to catch up but York's coach went for it on 4th and they didn't make it giving LA the ball on the 24 and LA quickly scored to go up 34-26. There was absolutely no reason to go for it on 4th and 4 at their own 24!!!  Then York tied it at 34 all, then LA went up 40-34 before York took the lead at 42-40 with 3:09 to go.  On a 3rd and 8 for LA, York was called for a horse collar and LA went on to score to win 48-42. But who knows what may have happened if York's coach hadn't given LA that gift TD! The Dragons played hard and nothing should be taken away from their great effort...just another bad call costing them another game.

I hope you're not saying the horse collar call was a bad call. It wasn't even questionable!

Ah If York gets the first down it becomes a "great coachin" decision. Easy to play Saturday morning quarterback. Maybe coach figured heck we cant stop Linder anyways so lets roll the dice and go for it . Do I agree with the decision "no" but that is his job.. and I don't want somebody telling me how to do mine.

question is...LA scored on one run play...did it matter if it was from 25 yards out or 70 yards out?  Didn't necessarily agree with call, but they instantly gave up a one play TD...3 and out is a 3 and out...doesn't matter where it is on the field.  The defense gave up the big play.

Wouldn't have mattered if York scored a defensive touchdown on that next play....

Its an incredibly dumb decision.

Just ask yourself how often you see that happen in college or the pros.... Never. Because it makes no sense.

Maybe he seen something in the game or on the field he thought he could take advantage of. He made the decision and his opinion is the one that matters. Maybe you should turn a resume into him next week and try to get on the staff. I'm sure with your extensive knowledge of the game and statistics of college and pro ball he wouldn't turn you down!

    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
    • Facts...until someone takes down the Rebels they should be the favorite. Got loads of young guys salivating at the opportunity to prove themselves and get a 3peat! Blazer how is Region 1 looking this year?
