8-20. None with a winning record

I agree that HC has had the benefit of playing either sub par teams or just teams with difficult schedules . That being said the stat goes both ways.

Huntingtons Opponents

Camden 2-4

Collinwood 2-3

Milan 3-3

Perry 0-5

Mckenzie 3-3

Overall 10-18

Again let me clarify so this isn't taken out of context . I've seen the film on each team . HC will have to have there very best to even compete with this Huntington team. Huntington is very good all the way around. Great coaching, great athletes , and GREAT. Size. That being said I don't think the records of either teams opponents credit or discredit what they have done thus far . They are both 5-0 for a reason . Each team has its own flaws and positive points otherwise they wouldn't be 5-0. I look for it to be a tough , physical game. If HC can compete with Hubtington in the trenches it will be an interesting game. If they can't then Huntington will keep rolling.

1 with a .500 record I believe after last night.

Houston County IS 1 of just 6 undeafted teams left in 1A. They do deserve a ton of respect.

They also have A ton of depth with 50 kids on the roster. They ground and bound you and have a very good Oline, IMO. So all im saying is dont ve sleeping on em. WC wont be.

Huntingdon's weak schedule might be their undoing in November. And it is not their fault! Milan is down from a normal Milan. Camden is down for the first time in 12 years, and McKenzie has been up and down over the past few years. Normally, scheduling those three teams for non region games would be a stiff dose. They can't help it they have been moved to a much weaker region by TSSAA. It looks like the only game Huntingdon will have to worry about will be long trip to Wayne Co. and they should be able to come out of that o.k. So, Huntingdon sits at home for a first round and wins that big. However, when the other teams from their immediate area start coming to visit in the next round, things will get serious. They might be able to withstand it, having not had to play four quarters most of the year, the Huntingdon team could be in trouble. I know they have the best team they have had in a few years, but I think their schedule will end up hurting them in the playoffs....... Houston Co., congrats on a good run. I'm glad the leprechauns are doing better in "A bit of Ireland in Tennessee."  But when Huntingdon gets finished with you, you will think you have been run through a leaf shredder. I'm not a big fan of Huntingdon; I'm just stating facts here.

Lol well one things certain . I love your enthusiasm . I hope your wrong both for HC 's pride and for Huntingtons growth from a stamina point looking at the playoffs. I could see where it would be difficult to go toe to toe with teams as equally talented as you for 4 qts when u haven't had to play a full 4 qt's all year. Best of luck to both teams . Furthermore and most importantly hope that both teams come out of this game with their health intact .

I still contend there is way too much being put into conditioning by not playing 4 quarters.  If players are not getting in condition at practice, there is NO way that is going to happen in 4 quarters on a Friday night.  It is the equivalent of getting in shape by working out one time a week, not gonna happen.

No disrespect intended cause you may very well be correct but conditioning in practice with your brothers and your own teammates doesn't quite compare to playing 4 full qts of a game if an opponent is pushing you to your limit. Not at all saying Huntington isn't capable . Just saying they haven't had to all year. Granted they may not have to until Wayne co. I'm just saying its a little different than practice .

I'm liking all the comments on here, I think Milan and McKenzie are better than Houston County, they are def better than their schedule.  I am gonna watch some film on 2 games later and tell you what I think.  Coach Swenson and staff will have them ready either way I am sure.  I think we will mercy rule them not being big headed and I might change my mind after I see film.  Even 38320 agrees mustangs will probably win.  He is right bout our schedule being a disadvantage too.  Maybe this other person on here is right and houston county will give us a game so we will be able to keep starters in.

No disrespect taken at all.  I will agree that competition against other teams is the best way to prepare.  However, I believe it is more the mental aspect rather than conditioning.  Kinda like TN today, you have to learn how to finish games.

    • Why? Low pay. Low budget thanks to the Rotary milking the programs revenue. Foul smell. There are other negative things... Positives: the players and being toward the top of the classification numbers wise.
    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
