Where you go Dog? Have not seen you eating crow over all your great input into the West vs Farragut game. You seemed to have an opionion before kickoff but now you seem to be over here given these poor people your 2 cents.

Got me...nothing to say.  Sent home with my tail in between my legs.  Didn't think that would happen.

And footage was sent in that we did cross the line on that 2 point con. Everyone who seen that game knows our WR lost that game. A loss is a loss but we should have won. This team should be 7-0.

I like the fantasy dust you have been sprinkling on your 7-0 remarks. I do believe your QB rushed for less than 20 yards against SH and our QB rushed for 170 yards that hot evening against your D. It wasn't as close as the score indicated but live your 7-0 dream

I've wanted to post for a long time, but just held off, and I can't hold back anymore. DB has so much talent that they should not be in the position they're in. The problem is, several kids who should be playing are either on the sidelines or playing the wrong position. Wholesale changes are way overdue. Both sides of the ball need to get some new blood in the rotation, but I don't think the pride or arrogance of the coaches will let that happen. Defensive backs are fast but couldn't cover a penny with a beach blanket. The offense can't score enough points to keep up with the points the defense is giving up.

The depth at DB is there, they just won't get the 2s or 3s in the game for meaningful snaps. Probably afraid that they would outplay the "stars". Maybe we can recruit some more players from the band. That has been the only bright spot of the year so far.

Just curious: I have followed this thread and noted the criticism of the OC at Bradley Central. With the huge numbers Friday night, I ask what changed? Did someone else call the plays or is the OC not so bad after all? Hard to question this offensive showing regardless of the answer to my question.

I think the DB faithful would tell you that their DC would make an OC moonbat look good

TOMTAYLOR:  Coach, welcome back to Biggies.  Let's place an order and discuss last week's game.

COACH:  Great idea Tom....

TT:  Well the Bradley Central Bears rolled into Kingsport and gave us quite a game didn't they?

COACH:  Tom, those Bears sure did.  We watched their game film but we just never saw that coming.  And you know, speaking of bears and film, do you know why panda's like old films?

TT:  No I don't...

COACH:  Because they're in black and white

TT:  Ha-ha-ha, oh that's good...  Well as we review the game I think we're going to see where the Bears attacked our secondary.

COACH:  Tom they were all over us all night, yep, attack, attack, attack.   Sort of like, do you know what you call a dream where bears are attacking you?

TT:  Uh, no

COACH:  A bite-mare, heh-heh

TT:  Hardy-har-har, stop it you're killing me, ha-ha.   Ok, well back to the Bears' offensive performance, not only did they drill our secondary they were also able to run on us pretty well...

COACH:  Boy did they ever, run run run.  That makes me think about the two guys who are walking thru the woods and they come upon a bear.  The first guy says "Run for it!"  and the other guy says "You can't outrun a bear" and the first guy responds "I don't have to outrun the bear, I just have to outrun YOU!"

WAITRESS:  Hey guys, here's your order, sorry we didn't have a Bear Burger so it's just beef.

COACH:  That's ok, honey, say what's your name?

WAITRESS:  Gwen Ann Barrett  :)

TT: (spitting tea all over the microphone)  Ha-ha, oh, hey let's go to a commercial break, heh-heh.....

Well, since we're a band school now, according to Twitter the DB Band won 1st place class AAA at the Bands of America regional championship prelims at Wake Forest today. Champions! They move on to a shot at Grand Championship tonight. Time for changes that will allow the same to be possible in football. We need a resignation, now. Not next year.

Final post to finish driving this point home.  There is no reason why our football program shouldn't have a chance to be champions.  The right leaders.  Hard work.  Drive.  These kids have just as much inate talent as any team.  They could be champions.  Why continue to rob them of the possibility?

There are Grand Champions this morning and we should celebrate that.  As a graduate, I do.  They have been given things that the football team does not have - leadership. It's time for change in the football program.  Time to restore what we've lost.

To be honest, I think and what I have observed, is that when the game plan works he is pretty good. But when things don't work well or at all, going off script is a problem.

Against Bearden he kept running essentially the same plays despite execution not being there and then became somewhat predictable. I know some things in play calling on any play may not always be apparent in the stands, but we can only go on what we see. It's not just as simple as calling a play either, but rather a sequence of plays. The worst thing is to start showing a pattern and I think we do at times when things are not going well.

As an example, we had a good play called back on a penalty. Instead of being ready for a that (I read an article once that a good OC should always have a plan for a call if things go bad as well as good on any play), he took a long time coming up with something... so long we had to call a time out. That is something that should never happen, even if you just call a standby safe play.

Changing up on the fly is a problem, and while not easy, that is something an OC or as HC has to capable of doing. You should always have a backup "what if" plan. And when things don't go according to "script" is where I think we have trouble there.
