Don't worry man, we'll let you guys get a good look at it before we take it away

;)

Well with 30 to 12 win lead in the series since 72 and 6 to 4 lead in the past ten years, if history tell us anything season win loss records mean nothing. I remember a goal line stand a few years ago the derailed a favored Oakland team from a championship run. I wouldn't be so quick as to start polishing that trophy yet..

Oakland also has won the last two and going for 3 in a row for the first time in 25 years. Your right, those 2009 games were great, Riverdale just had our number that year.

Everybody likes to use the ole throw out the records cliche, but truth is while this Rivalry has always been intense, it has been pretty good to the favorite. Don't think there was a big gap in 2009 and really the only true upset I can think of is Oakland winning in 2000.

Truth be told, I'm just glad that Oakland can play the role of the favorite. I started watching Oakland football at a time when the measure if success was just scoring against Riverdale, much less winning. McDaniel changed the face of this Rivalry for the better.

Glad to see Riverdale got it turned around in time for this game. Going to find out pretty quickly if that was due to their competition or if they found something that works.

You leave out a significant portion of the history of this rivalry when you just mention the regular season. I wouldnt call a 5-13 record v. Riverdale since 2000 as even. However a 4-4 record v. Riverdale since 2008 (the season McDaniel took over), that's pretty even. I hope your right about it running in cycles because if that's the case, Oakland is due for a BIG run since they went 3-17 against Riverdale from 1990-2007. Edited by MidTennFootball

Last time I checked McDaniel is gone and its a new day. The one thing Ive learned in my 20 years of this rivalry is nothing is a given. It's been proved over and over and it's been the track record of the over confident team gets wake up call.

True but, some would argue (not sure im there yet) that Creasy is an upgrade over McDaniel. This is the first time that Oakland will be able to sustain the success of the previous regime , the Patriots have never been able to do that while the Warriors have been a model of consistency, minus a few hiccups.

I mention McDaniel at length not because Oakland became an elite program during his time on the field, but the massive upgrades made to the program ( stadium improvements, indoor facility, implementation of a youth football and middle school football program) ensured that Oakland is going to be really good for a really long time. Thus my comment that he changed the face of this Rivalry as we know it, much like Rankin did when he arrived in 1990

Yea, and I remember we thought Coach A was going to be a upgrade. Any coach can ride on the success of the previous coach for a couple of years until the differences begin to come out. Were all ready for a change around here...

Lol anybody that seriously thought that Riverdale could upgrade at HC after Rankin needs to get their head checked. Would have made the same statement in 2005. Aydellot had a nice resume`, but not even close to what Rankin had. Creasy on the other hand is about the same age as McDaniel and has a resume`that at least equals his, despite what people think about winning titles in lower classes.

I made those statements about the improvements to the program to illustrate how hard it will be for Oakland to struggle long term. It's still about the kids, but when you have so many built-in advantages its going to show on the field

    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
    • “No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team.” For language? I’m not seeing that as a dealbreaker.
    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
