Next Giles County Coach?

What about Palmer at Fayetteville? May be too honest for the Giles County faithful. Thomas from Lincoln County? What about the old D coordinator under O'Connor? I am sure he remembers how to run an indoor practice in the months of January, Februaryand March. May even have a couple of those MCHS numbers that they used to call...lol

Does anyone remember how well Palmer's Fayetteville bunch played us this year during preseason scrimmage??? He brought a 1A group over here and hung with us. If I was in charge I would get boosters together and put a package in place that would set him up well enough to make him step away from his hometown team! I know he is older, but money talks and he could put a couple of years in and build a proven winner. He started Fayetteville from scratch and had a successful season this year. Somebody needs to give him a call quickly before it's too late! :hungry:

I'm telling you it would be a good hire. Very hard working and honest coach. Loves the kids but works their rear ends off. He also had success at Fayetteville with very little help. But again I am not sure these are qualities that the fans that post on here are looking for.

Some of the best coaches will tell you that a head coach is only as good as his assistant coaches. As long as he is allowed to bring in a couple of guys he knows I believe it would be an awesome hire! There are two problems with Palmer: 1) he is at the end of his career and 2) he is at his home town team

Both of these problems will most likely keep him from coming, but why not try?!?! Although he may be a little older he has a ton of knowledge! The best way to hire a good coach is to create a large budget. This program needs someone who will work hard  and make these players great! If I knew the right people I would persuade them to at least reach out to Coach Palmer. Never hurts to ask

There is a guy in West Tn that has almost 300 career wins, won over 75% of the games he's coached, and has been to 5 state title games that is now on the market. No spring chicken but he says he plans to coach many more years and is willing to relocate. Mickey Marley. Giles should make the call.

No brainer.

Kriesky brought a 2A team to the table and beat you. Not to mention he destroyed Palmer's Fayetteville team two years in a row as a D coordinator and head coach, with lesser athletes. Just throwing that out there.

    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
