PA you can talk to me when your team AND MINE gets out of the quarters AND THE SEMIS. I was really looking forward to an owl AND BEAR slaughter but your cupcakesAND MINE could not keep up OUR end of the bargain. And from what Im hearing Cleveland is about to dominate that region AND 5A  so it may be a while till the owls OR DA BEARS get any color ball for theDOLLYWOOD/OWL trophy case.  :popcorneater:

Great season for the Bears. They did not play their best vs Indy but like everybody has said it was going to take a great game and maybe a bit of an off night for Indy for the Bears to pull out the upset. I told everyone all year this team had a chance and in the end a Silver Ball will look good next to the 1999 Gold ball. Also having home field was big for the Bears during the playoffs & going on the road with all the State Championship distractions may have caused the Bears to relax a little too much. And I knew if the offense had an off night they would be in trouble and thats what happened. They had chances to move the chains and to get some defensive stops that they have capitalized on all playoffs but its was not meant to be. I give Indy all the credit in the world they made plays that other teams where not able to make against the Bears most of the year. The QB for Indy is for real, he may not have the hype but he has "it". Indy had some passing plays that were on time and on the money and like the Bears know so well when that happens its hard to stop. All in all great run for the Bears and glad to be back on the T as some of you know I went into no trash talking pre game because it seemed to bring bad luck but now that my luck has run out I will resume the trash talk. GoBears!!

The smoky bears were a lot fun to watch. Very exciting season for us. Congrats to our players and coaches. Been impressed with our kids off the field too. Been very classy when I've talked to them. Knowing how high school kids can act I've had only positive experiences with them. As far as state goes, Indy was a very impressive team to watch. Their WRs were really good. Congrats to them. I also found out their underclassmen like Dollywood passes.

Being at this game and watching it, sevier counties oline got whipped all night up front and caused deuce to have run for his life and banks to have no running lanes. However, when deuce did have time he did have some bad throws so it was a little suprising as I figured he'd be laser accurate with the ball. Also, it seemed like sevier had no defensive game plan they looked lost from the start and they played their CBs in weird positions all night with their hips turned by their alignment. Give it up to Blade though he coached a good game and Bunch played spotless. He is the real deal at qb

Our o line did get beat. They've played good the past 6 weeks, but they did look bad Friday night. Duece had played incredible past few weeks. May of just had an off night, but I give credit to indy's defense for playing a great game. And indy's receivers was open every play seemed like. They were quick and ran great routes. I hate we lost, but Indy was impressive and fun to watch. Just hope we can learn from it.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
