rebelwoman87
Check that on #42. Evidently, he found something more entertaining to do. Did have a nose for the ball. Next man up. He was a decent punter too. Gonna be missed.
MLREB
All speculation at this point.I think at least two or maybe even three freshman will start or at the least see quite a bit of play time. Doubt a Freshman will start this year.....but may contribute at some point during the season. It's very difficult for Freshman to start or even contribute considering the typical depth of a Maryville squad.
strongx
I really like #27 on and off the football field. I like Butch Jones and TN. Two questions: 1) why has TN not offered? 2) are they so good in Knoxville that #27 wouldn't help 2-3 years down the road? #ridiculous

Will find out in August. Also near the end of the season last year especially the last few games, you knew on passes where the ball was going,No progression through receivers.IMO that cost the championship game. Great kid, great all around person and comes from a great family. I have had the pleasure of watching him play almost every game of his career from game one as a little kid. The one thing we all have in common is that we all know he has a sense for the football like no other we have ever seen at Maryville. He is in the right place at the right time because he is football smart. The championship game two years ago proved that to anyone because had it not been for him we would have lost, that simple. Some may differ from me on this one but I would have never played basketball had football been my dream and used all that time working only on football. For some unknown written rule made by who know who that to be a D-! linebacker you must be 6-3 235 which he isn't. I believe had he got more weight on his frame he might have had more offers or interest. There have been many great linebackers that were only 6-1 .but I believe because of height he is being overlooked. I see these ding dongs they recruit beyond belief that have the size but no smarts or heart. That is where most of these schools are missing out on in this situation and I do believe someone is going to wake up and realize that before it's over with. No question.....strong Freshman class. The difference is mental maturity of a 14/15 year old kid versus 17/18 year old. If we were talking Greenback then I would agree. Too much depth and experience at Maryville to make that statement. The only Freshmen to start in recent years are TD (who was a couple of years beyond his age in maturity) and I think Christain Markham got a couple of starts at a thin position. I may be missing a couple but not by much. JMO.... I do believe there is a chance for a couple to contribute at some point and if injuries become an issue you might see a start or two. strongx
Stars-I'm kinda partial to #42. Barn-the good thing is that #27 will get his college paid if he wants. He has been even better than expected in high school, absolutely lights out. IMO-UT will be lucky to sign a LB as good and they will get a couple about the same size. My memories of watching his whole career were when he was just starting he was bigger and faster than anyone else which caused him to dominate. About the seventh and eighth grade years when all the other kids started to catch up with him he shifted into another gear which we see today. The kid is just smart and knows what's going on at all times. It's like he can read their minds and knows where to be.
BarneySox2007
I didn't go watch the middle school play last year but I hope there is a QB coming up through that group. We have two seniors that should be back ups this year unless GQ just moves one of them to another position but things get really bare after that. Time to retire for a few months and bone up on Rebel football. With apologies to SX. That was an obvious miss.
