I like those old red Maryville helmets    Milan was a total beast in 1977 but at least Maryville won a Class AA Championship in 1978.

Here's an original Maryville helmet from 1975. I need to put new numbers on the side but they were Riddell Helmets and the same color all the way through and not painted red either./

I dug that out just for you Dave plus my nephew is always asking me if we wore leather helmets back then so this will shut him up and kill two birds with one stone. Glad you like those Dave.

Also Dave back then the seniors always picked the design and we picked that our senior year and it stayed for a long time. Our coaches were big Alabama fans and always went to Bear Bryant's house as guest every year so we all decided to pattern the helmets like Alabama because we knew Coach Wilson and Coach Story would like that and I'm sure it stayed the same for all those years because all the players really loved and respected those two men very much.
