What do you guys have coming back Chief??

We did lose some big shoes in 3 year starting LB Dalton Whitfield, and RB Deshawn Brown. We do return our QB Hayden Abernathy, who threw for over 1,000 yards this season. I know some teams laugh at that amount of yardage, but for Camden, that is a huge number of passing yards. We also have a stable of receivers returning and most of both the offensive and defensive line.

In 3A ball returning most of the guys in the trenches makes a big difference. I was impressed when I saw your qb last year. Boy is a baller. Hope you guys do well. If you guys get back over in my neck of the woods this year I'll try to stop by.

I heard from a few Dyersburg people that they have 30 juniors (seniors in 2016). If that is true, we can't rule them out from a deep playoff run. Liberty lost good players on defense (both linebackers and the D-end) but hopefully they will have enough coming and a few JCM players coming in order for them to make another semi-final run, this time, at home!! I would also make a bold prediction. If there is one team that has the capability to make a lot, it will be the Crockett County Cavaliers.

Crockett is 4A. All the other teams you mentioned are 3A.

Catholic is the heavy 4A favorite with players like Rogers and Kuerchen leading the way .. Fulton and Greeneville on outside looking in .. Catholic heavy favorite for another Gold Ball

Fulton will always be a heavy favorite, Greeneville as well. I would not be shocked if one of the three are representing the east in 2016.

Well the odds are definitely in those 3 teams favor. The last 6 state champions have come out of region 1. Besides Fulton's close game with Trezevant the other championship games have been blow outs.....

  • 3 weeks later...

In 3A I agree about the final 8. CAK, Notre Dame, and Alcoa will be strong again. In the midstate it's going to be CPA and Stratford. Out west look for Milan and Liberty to be strong.

I like Stratford but they lose alot and the only had about 35 players last year. They will be young next year and won't be able to sneak up on anyone Edited by FBfan26

    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
    • Thats one of the problems of having an 8-team region. A team could make it in any other region, but the numbers work against them in this one.
    • 1A: Brayden Baker - Eagleville Rylan Collins - Lookout Valley Luke Treece - Coalfield   2A: Carter Daniel - Loretto Gray Eubanks - Huntingdon Trevan Myers - Pigeon Forge   3A: Gabe Eddington - Montgomery Central Carson Parrott - Livingston Academy Jaxon Walker - Loudon   4A: Eli Evans - Farragut Andrew Hill - Central  Brady Scott - Sevier County   Division II-A: Wesley Alig - CAK Cooper Jones - Boyd Buchanan Gunner Skelton - Columbia Academy   Division II-AA Brock Beddingfield - CPA Dominic Monaco - Brentwood Academy Tomas Valincius - Baylor
