Oleskooly
Spencer Reese was a good quarterback and was very deserving of it. So is that the momma you are referring to. Because from what I've heard shes the only one that thought her son should be QB.
raiderfan12
Anybody that watched very many games and saw Spencer Reese carry the ball for 1/2 the rushing yards this year would realize that he was playing exactly where he needed to be playing. The year before he played quarterback and did a good job--evidently the coaching staff believed that year that having Spencer behind center was the best option. This year the COACHING STAFF made another decision. Watching Spencer as RB you knew he was in his sweet spot. The fact is THE COACHING STAFF, who was hired to make those decisions, who spent countless hours in the spring and summer months and throughout the fall with those young men and knew the overall abilities, attitudes, make-up of each player and the team as a whole made the decision they deemed best and necessary. The fact is it really wasn't anyone else's decision to make. And yet, lots and lots of people made it their business and wreaked havoc because of it. 6-5 and a trip to the playoffs wasn't enough. Dobbs is quoted as saying he is looking forward to being in a community that is supportive. He hardly knows the truth.
2016
Austin's loyalty to his friend Frost cost him. Frost just never was accepted. School Board and DOS took the easy way out by voting Austin's tenure down. It's over and done with. Like it or not just move on and see what Dobbs can do. 10 win seasons going deep in the playoffs will make folks forget.
raiderfan12
Your analysis of the Board and DOS is accurate. As far as Austin, he's true to his word and loyal to his friends unlike the way he's been treated. I'm sure he will be able to look back with few regrets in regards to the way he has treated others. If loyalty to your friend cost you a job, it says more about those making the decision than it does you. And you're right a 10 win season is what it will take to make them forget and make them happy. Not sure how long that will take, but he doesn't have long because there's always a ticking time bomb.
2016
One of two things will happen, If Dobbs wins a lot he moves on to bigger and better. If he doesn't 2-3 years and the merry go round turns again, Dobbs has been around winning programs and most likely was DOS hand picked guy since he comes from wing t teams and that is what the DOS likes. TCVeritas
You all are getting a great coach in Coach Dobbs. I played for Dobbs and coached with him here at Trousdale for 3 years. He will work countless hours to put the kids in position to win. He loves the kids he coaches, but he is also willing to show them tough love by pushing them when times get tough. We really hated to see him leave TC to go to Riverdale. Rally around him, give him an opportunity and you will not regret it. Coach Dobbs has coached in many different system of offense. When he arrived here in TC we were running the Wing-T and transitioned to a Spread/Zone offense later in the 2000's. He will run whatever system his personnel allows. Good Luck Coach Dobbs from all your friends in Trousdale Co.

Oleskooly
I for one am very excited about the future with Dobbs. What happened is in the past so for some that want dwell on the past them the jump off the bridge. But those that are ready for the new leaf to be turned then let's rally behind Coach Dobbs and turn this ship around.
PiRaTe._.MiKe
If I'm not mistaken coach Dobbs was one of the finalists, maybe top 5, for the SP job a few years ago when all that fiasco started with coach Ricky Ross being hired then quitting. I heard nothing but great things about him.

2016
Now that Dobbs is hired it will be interesting to see who the assistants will be. Has anybody heard any names? Will anybody on staff be retained? Edited February 5, 2016 by 2016
