Two good wins for GB. Looks like they are clearly the 2nd team behind GCA and will have a good shot at them in the tourney. Looks like the first 3rd of the season has GCA, GB, Meigs and then maybe RW. The others look like they will fight it out for the cellar.

Now that you say that, they'll go belly up.. But seriously, if they can go 3-1 against Hampton and UH, I think they'll secure the 1 seed. Of course that's assuming they sweep Cloudland.

You fellers just seem to be the most consistent team but it also looks like any of the other 4 teams could win on any given night. Its a marathon.

  • 3 weeks later...

Who's coming out of the 3a tourney? GCA and...GB or Meigs? or could those push GCA out with a couple breaks their way?

4a... CF? Oneida?...maybe WB? Oneida has their best pitcher back and CF has likely the top pitcher in 4a. Wburg has been most consistent in district play it appears... although I think Oneida is better overall than them, (pitcher was out when they played) .CF maybe a little light in the hitting dept to win tourney.

. GB plans to be 1 of the 2 and they have the weapons to do it. Overall young team but play like upperclassmen. Timely hitting and error free D will tell the story. We have one of the better pitching rotations with 5 starters who have kept our aces fresh all season. Now if the weather would just cooperate so we can get this thing started!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
