I think Independence is just #1 because they're the reigning champs. They lost a ton of talent and Blade had been building towards that class. They'll still be good, but I don't see them repeating. I think Cane Ridge should be in the poll somewhere, as they could be dangerous and make a run. 5A is going to be uber-competitive this year...but if I had to pick a champion right now, I'd go with a Hillsboro vs Oak Ridge final, with Hillsboro coming out on top.

Hope you're right about us, but we have a lot of question marks coming into the season, especially on both sides of the ball and QB. We have a lot of gifted athletes if that accounts for anything though.

Independence is not going to be #1. They lost a ton of talent including Bunch who made that team go. Top ten I can see but not #1. Leaving Cane Ridge out with 20 returning starters is not a smart move. They should definitely be in there. Sevier Co I would drop.

Before you lash out I was joking. Although after week 1 I do hope they do well!

Not going to lash out at anything..... your comment is what it is..... Summit will be better than they were last year that is for sure.... returning 13 seniors / and a talented group of juniors who just might know how to play the game.... as apposed to last years squad in which 5 seniors were on the team and 1 started....

Regarding their defense..... it will be pretty good..... the D Coordinator is as good as anyone's in the region.....

They don't belong on the list........ but the Doormat days / check the win column automatically when you see Summit on the schedule are over........

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
