What wrestlers from Tennessee will be competing in the USA Wrestling Junior/Cadet Nationals this year?

Will Nick Boykin be able to double up in the junior division this year?  What about Sammy Evans, will he be rolling with some of the best big guys in the country?  Is Eli King still going to try his luck in the Junior Division?  Is CBHS still sending a large group of guys to compete?

Heres the list of Cadet Greco and then Junior Greco participants...should answer some of your questions

Emory Taylor - cadet 94 (2-2)

Robbie Griggs - cadet 126 (0-2)

David Dooley - cadet 132 (1-2)

Mason Reiniche - cadet 152 (2-1, still in)

Sawyer Knott - cadet 160 (3-2)

Christian Salter - cadet 182 (2-2)

And heres the list for Jr Greco

Esteban Remillard - Jr 145

Eli King - Jr 152

Tommy Bracket - Jr 170

Alex Green - Jr 285

So no, Nick Boykin will not double up again. It looks like Sammy Evans wont be there either. Yes, Eli King will try his luck in the junior division, and no Christian Brothers does not look to be bringing a large group of kids to compete...unless something changes for freestyle

TN has its first All-American as Mason Reiniche has secured AA status in the Cadet Greco-Roman 152 weightclass.  He knocked off Edmond Ruth of PA (yes this is Ed Ruth's, former Penn State wrestlers, little brother) 8-8 (Mason has 2 4's while all of Ruth's scores were 2's) in the consolations.  It was close as Mason nearly gave up a pushout that would have cost him the match just as time expired.  Mat official called for it but table indicated time was out.

CBHS has 4 in Fargo, with two only competing in freestyle.  A few less than we had hoped due to some health / injury issues but still a decent group.

Jr Greco started already but no TN guys have competed.

TN now has another All-American.

Tommy Brackett has secured his AA honors by making the semi-finals at 170 in the Junior Greco-Roman tournament.  Brackett picked up a 7-3 win over Daniel Butler of Kansas in the quarter-finals one the strength of a 4 pt head and arm, a gut, and a stepout.

Tommy will now face last year's Cadet GR runner-up, Jack Jessen of Illinois.

So you seem pretty sure that Evans bests Boykin.  Home team?

No, they have wrestled multiple time with Sammy coming out ahead. Nick has beaten Sammy once that I know of the 1st time they wrestled, but Sammy has the upper hand in total wins.

That said I think Nick would beat Sammy more often in Greco, but if he's not hitting a head throw then Sammy is going to win a lot of the time.
