Game against McMinn Co. was very interesting. More about it when I get home!

5-A McMinn Co. and Tyner had a defensive scrimmage this afternoon. The first couple of offensive possessions, both teams failed to score. MC fumbled on next series and the Rams scored from 5yds out(7-0). After 3 plays, MC punted and Tyner scored on a 25yrd run(14-0,RAMS).

The wing-T was in full effect by the Cherokees. A 15yard penalty against Tyner moved MC across the 50..MC scored but missed the xtra point(6-14). After 3 series, MC scored on an end around to pull within a point(13-14).

After a couple of series the game ended. Good game by both teams. MC had an OL/DL advantage(in size and numbers). My Rams held there own against a bigger team. Good luck to the Cherokees the rest of the year.

Our Coaches are doing an excellent job especially since we lost the 20+ Seniors!! One scrimmage does not make a season but so far I liked what I saw!!

On paper, Tyner should beat Boyd by 21-28 points anytime they play. The talent level among Tyner compared to the rest of that district is crazy.

I kinda' agree with you on that but we just don't have the depth we used to have and it hurts us when injuries creep in during the season. Most smaller schools have the same problem!!

The injury bug has already bit us. We scrimmaged Hixson yesterday and won two scores to none. Defense did well. Offense struggled a little.

Now I know you really do have our game circled, just fishing. Stay healthy.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
