Is Grace rebuilding? What's the deal with them? I was looking at their roster. They have over 20 kids listed at 6 feet or better. They have more than 5 kids listed at 6"4 or more. I understand size isn't everything, but in 2A they seem to have a lot of it.

I walked out onto the field the other night and I was very impressed with the size of some of those boy's. I always like it personally if the QB is tall which he is and looked very good throwing and running and only a 10th grader. I looked at that program also and I would say for the most part the coach isn't fudging with those numbers at all.

We all know they get a lot of kids coming in there. The tuition is cheaper than CAK, Webb and Catholic so it's a nice alternative for them.

I've been a little disappointed with the lack of support it seems they've had in years past. I've barely read anything from Pride or Raven and those guys used to be regulars on here. I actually enjoyed conversing with them, especially during basketball!! I'm sure they've got good reason for nit being able to been here and I highly respect the Grace posters. Most of them seem to be class acts!

They didn't get a single player from what I'm hearing this year. I think they usually have got a few every year but you can't count on that because those are gifts and this year the supply was cut off. Have a feeling why Raven and Pride aren't on here this year but that's their business but it sure would be nice to hear from them.

Go CAK. lol

Thanks guys, I'll take all the support we can get! It's always interesting when these 2 meet up. I'm looking forward to seeing the Grace QB and a new offense. I just hope he doesn't have a banner night Friday! One thing about the spread is that you have to be able to pitch and catch to make it work. I remember a few years ago when a team I pull for, Oak Ridge, ran the spread and couldn't pass. It didn't take long for the opponents to figure out all they were doing was trying to spread the defense out to run. I suspect that this will not be the case with Grace, however, and that they'll have some athletes. They always do.

Govolsknox, I'm no expert, but from what I saw last Friday, you suspect correctly.  Competition from a big school like Jeff Co. may have been the reason, but I wasn't that impressed with the run game.  The passing game did look to be the strength of the offense, but week 1 does not a season make.  I'm sure they've been working on ball security this week as well.

Installing a new offense can be tricky, especially in season 1. I suspect the coach believes he has the athletes to make it work if not perfectly this year, over this QB's next year or two. Still could be some kinks to work out, especially early in the season. Or maybe that's wishful thinking on my part.

I'll be pulling for the Rams on Friday, but I just hope they don't forget which game is the most important of the gauntlet they have the first half of the season.  Oliver Springs is the only conference game squeezed between Jeff Co, CAK, Campbell Co, and Webb.  That's brutal for GCA's school size.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
