Galilee
They are good but do not have a lot of size. If the 3 ball is not falling and you can handle their press they can be beat. The blow outs they had was when they played their JV

The blow outs they had was when they played their JV Ok, that's what I figured by the high scores, a lot of pressing & shooting 3's! I figured if a team had strong guards & good with ball and make them play a half court game!!
87vikingalumni
I think Humboldt will give Cordova a great game. Cordova is not that big. Brown is about 6-5 but athletic. Harris is a great shooter and his range goes to half court. Knowing coach Ab. he will have the Vikings ready to play. This should be a good game. Humboldt wins 84-69 over Cordova & will play Memphis Central tomorrow at 4pm!!

AFF
Humboldt put up a great fight against a 5A school & bigger players at every position, had a 6'6 point guard! Final score, Popular Bluff 84 Humboldt 82 with terrible officiating! Humboldt still got two more games to play so let's finish strong!! I found a blog called semoball.com that had the boxscores from the quarterfinal games.Popular Bluff was 24-39 from the free throw line while Humboldt was 9-12.PB blocked a shot at the end that would've forced overtime.Terrible officiating indeed! Yes, I didn't want to say it but refs were terrible the entire game, not only giving PB all the foul calls, PB had several walking violations that were never called as well as fouls! They couldn't let a 1A school come in & upset them in there tournament! I'm sure they thought they would have a easy win by playing the smallest school in the tournament but Humboldt still should have won after the terrible officiating! warmachine7954
This is a huge win for Humboldt. It sounds like things are going well for them. Cordova likes to play hectic. As someone, I think Galilee, mentioned don't turn it over and you'll be in the game. Edited December 29, 2016 by warmachine7954
JungleJim125
Yes, I hope the Vikings do have a good showing, playing a lot of big schools, plays Popular Bluff Tuesday & if they win will have winner between Kenwood & Cordova! Kenwood is out of Chicago with a 8-1 record & Cordova is 10-1 with only lost to #2 rank team in the nation, Northcross Georgia so it will be a huge challenge for the Vikings!! Vikings beat a team that only loss to the #2 rank team in the nation did not know that! Very impressed with The Vikings and boy the City of should be proud of them i know i am and dont ever live there but i went to school there that makes me proud Go GO Vikings! My blood will always run red!

Galilee
This will be the Viking last game? GO Vikings! No I was saying if Cordova was expecting an easy game from this 1A school, they had the wrong idea.

I agree Galilee, Cordova probably over looked Humboldt but that's why you play the game! Coach Abernathy has Humboldt playing well & will get two (2) players back after Christmas both injuried during football! A starting center from last year & a back up point guard will give them more depth with experience!
