IrishBBall
But line will still be very good ... Mayes bro's and Tucker and some good frosh ... also running back will have Brown back and QB - #10 is back ... #24 WR and DB and #8 Blakely so they have some good players returning ... but they do loose best player on team .. #36 Kuerchen but will be good again ..but not good enough to play with the big privates who they would play if thay had decided to play in DII where they are supposed to play .... wondering if they continue letting players parents do certain jobs for tuition reimbursement is that a violation of the policy that would prohibit them from staying in D1 .. ?? Q do you now ?? Heard that there are some parents doing jobs like washing uniforms .. equipmemt stuff and are getting breaks on tuition .. does that constitute financial aid ????? That won't be allowed nor will tuition breaks for multiple family members under the new guidelines. Work study is/was allowed

Guest JustMeVFL
Yes KC is definitely graduating a very talented senior class. The juniors have some studs. But the Freshman class is absolutely loaded with talent.
Bravey
I'm not sure how the financial aid works for non Catholics. Catholic kids can apply through Catholic Charities for assistance. I do know that kids receiving any financial aid are not allowed to play varsity sports. That's a school rule.what about the parents of football players doing those odd jobs for tuition breaks .. will that have to stop and if so will that affect any kids in your opinion as far not being able to afford tuition .. IrishBBall
in your opinion do you think that will prohibit any of the kids that were getting tuition help from being able to stay at KC ??Not sure. It is a definite quandary. I'm sure that will weigh into the ultimate decision on whether we stay in the public division. There are several pros and cons for staying where we are now. We'll know in. Couple of weeks......
BEAMERBALLMAVERICK
I thought if they are giving tuition breaks for athletes that they have no choice but to go private.

There aren't any "tuition breaks" for athletes. Those are called scholarships. Students get a discount if there are multiple family members attending Catholic. The parishes assist with tuition for the students that attend their church. Work study has been available for any students. In order to stay in the public division, we would have to do away with multiple student discounts, work study programs, etc.

If you all stay in public wouldnt you stay in 4A?

What kind of odd jobs do they do? Do they just offer that to football players that will only help the team win or is it anyone that wants to go to Catholic? With Catholic's enrollment and the 1.8 multiplier that would put them in 5a with a little over 1,100 students
IrishBBall
With Catholic's enrollment and the 1.8 multiplier that would put them in 5a with a little over 1,100 students Under the current rules you couldn't be moved up more than 1 classification. We were stuck in 5A for 2 years before that rule change was caught.
