Smyrna vs Dobyns Bennett Round 1

I haven't seen either team play this year, but I did see Smyrna take down Science Hill with ease in the playoffs last year.They were bigger, stronger, faster than the Toppers.  I realize that was last year, but IMO DB has a really big hill to climb. 

Smyrna is a big physical team that is going to line up and hit you in the mouth every play. They are not as strong offensively as they were with Perkins at back and Turner at the QB spot, but they will be well coached and ready with solid adjustments.

DB don't be intimidated by these Smyrna Bulldog puppies... Yes they are big and physical but they make a lot of mistakes! Their kicking game is very weak and should be exposed. They had the great idea to schedule our 5A State Champion Independence Eagles as their Homecoming opponent and lost 21-7 with 7 turnovers. Casey went down with an injury in 1st quarter which was unfortunate but the backup is very quick and fast. Their 3 star QB was running for his life and threw 3 picks... Their pass blocking is not very good so get them in passing situations. You will need a bend but don't break mentality on defense as they will get their yards but sooner or later they will make a big mistake and you need to capitalize on it! Embrace the challenge

DB is just as big, just as strong and just as athletic as Smyrna. Smyrna has better coaching though.

Just heard that DB will be without Cooper for this game.    Seems he has gone missing.   In fact, DB Cooper has not been seen since November 1971.

Lets face it. Smyrna is a wounded dog. You just cant overcome the loss of a leader like Turner in one week and even though he was a backup, Wakins as a sophomore  brought that quick slashing running that kept them in the race all season. It will be a win from the heart if the Bulldogs can pull this out. The one thing about a wounded dog is they will fight to the end..

Sounds like a lot for both teams is going on.Heard another Indian starting lineman quit.Don't know all the details but it won't help the Tribe nomatter what the reason.The good thing about wounded dogs Is I heard  they have a good vet in Maryville if Smyrna gets past the tribe.DR Quarles I believe is his name
