Why should people take personal responsibility for their actions when it can all be pinned on an imaginary big invisible boogie-man floating around up in the sky somewhere... so convenient.

Like a little kid getting caught with his hand in cookie jar saying "it wasn't me... maybe a giant did it."

Hey, not my fault... THIS guy calls all the shots...

(don't like this post? don't blame me... a big giant cosmic invisible boogie-man mandated that I post this... his idea - he calls ALL the shots)

LOD more people need to study their American History. My family came here from Ireland and Scotland after leaving England. Course some went to Australia and some came here to Pennsylvania, as those folks you talked about. And we know why the other bunch went to Australia. Just glad to be an American!!!

BUMP!!

Looks like the "boogie-man" is a big part of your everyday thoughts. That's a good thing.

No rage on my part, but couldn't help but notice your reference to "facts".  Question for you:

What group in American history owned slaves at a higher percentage than did white people (ie, 1.4% of whites owned slaves in 1860, what racial group owned slaves at greater than 1.4%)?

Who cares? Was the United States helped built off of the sweat of African American slaves backs or not? Typical white American deflection .

I don't have any faith at all in the 2 party system. Honestly, I think the GOP is dying (The Republican Party as we know it). America has become nothing short of an oligarchy ran by big money corporations, and a few elite big bankers, say nothing about Democracy as we know it. But, honestly it has been that way for awhile, it's just really coming to fruition now.

Totally agree

One could make that argument up to a hundred and fifty years ago, not since. Anyway, sensing this being a sensitive subject with you, I'll let you do your own research.

Hope your team does well.

People who double down on religion to avoid the eternal fire they fear exists, just to avoid said fate, don't fool the deity if one such indeed exists.  He/she/it will not be not fooled by that tactic.  The over/under for people doubling down for that reason still burning in an eternal pit of fire and misery is that same as those who doubt it even exists.

I didn't double down.. I bet the farm on it. I know God is real, but if a man /woman wants to argue the legitimacy I don't care how I get them to consider looking at it in a different light.  Fear, out of research in argument, love. sorrow... getting someone to the message is what I can do... getting them to accept that is up to them and God. I don't know you but I made you think about your relationship and what the bible says... Job done

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
