Springfield is a pretty good football team. They did beat Lipscomb and Maplewood in the playoffs. They put 56 on the team that Pearl hung 70 on in the first round.

Fastest kid on the field Friday night will be Parker from PC. If East let's him out in the open field he is taking it to the house.

You almost hope they did go for two. A missed PAT would be a terrible way for a season to end.

We love being the underdogs. Dont nobody believe that we will win but us and the community. To me pearl cohn is just another team. I cant wait until friday.

Come on now coach you know just as well as we do y'all are not underdogs. Both PC and East are young and wasn't picked to be at this spot at the beginning of the season. Your dog's are trained to go just like ours. Edited by FBfan26

Actually i am excited to see the outcome of this game for a few reasons. I have seen PC play 3 times this year. They have a great young team but I am still not sold on them as being good enough to take the ship. Honestly they had a cake walk region and before anyone starts bringing up springfield macon co and maplewood stop and think about that for a minute. None of those teams are really that good. They are not bad teams but nothing i would consider as great. Then in the playoffs they smashed a terrible kenwood team that i think everyone left in the bracket could hang 60 plus on..then had the benefit of beating up on macon again then springfield again. The 2 regions they are paired up with in the bracket is probably in my opinion the worst in the bracket. So i am excited to see them actually play some credible competion now. I think they have everything to prove. Honestly I will be pulling for them but i am just not sold on them just yet. Now go to memphis and make a statement there and well i will take back my criticism. But regardless good luck firebirds

      Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.

      Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
