BasketBro
Ya, Aaron left things in a bind. Amonett stepped up 2 weeks before the first game. Cookeville tromped them pretty good the first game of the year, but since PC is 9-3 & swept Stone Memorial. Look like a different team. Kids are really responding to him. bobcatfan#1
I agree that PC is looking good but even though they played Clay close a couple of times last year, I don't see them or anyone in 7A beating Clay Co this year. Pickett needs to play their best at Clarkrange or they won't win. They had better be ready to guard the 3s.. I think the Buffaloes have a good shot at being #2. Congrats now bring back the hardware. They have beat West Hall, GA and Wallace-Rose Hill, NC so far. I went to these games and Key was a man among boys there. He's just on a different level than anyone in Class A or Class AA and that includes Mitchell and all the other teams down there outside of AAA. Some of the AAA teams in Memphis have kids as talented as him of that i am sure but outside of that none are even close. He should be Mr. Basketball for Class A. Fans, who have not seen Key play, have no idea what enormous talent this young man has.

Key will be Class A Mr. Basketball this year. There isn't anyone close in single A as you said. Edited December 24, 2016 by Shozen
dmm88
So if Key was in West TN, he would still be good?? I question that single A competition further east
rabbitranch
So if Key was in West TN, he would still be good?? I question that single A competition further east Key is not the typical Upper Cumberland 'good' player. He is that special kind of player who makes everyone around him better and who would fit in and look good anywhere.
Shozen
So if Key was in West TN, he would still be good?? I question that single A competition further east Of course he would easily easily start for any team in the state A, AA, or AAA. Averaging 42ppg 8 rebounds 6 assists and 2 steals currently. He had outstanding performances during some big AAU tournaments over the summer averaged 30+. He is the second best point guard in the state behind Darius Garland who has offers from the top schools in the nation. He is more athletic than Garland but Garland's overall ball handling and shooting are better.
UCSportsFan
So if Key was in West TN, he would still be good?? I question that single A competition further east If Key played for Hardaway at Memphis East i think he would have been an even higher D1 prospect. I think it hurt him recruiting wise but like the other poster said he scored 30+ on a very good AAU team that played all over the country. He's unbelieveable in these parts, head and shoulders above all others that has ever played in the upper cumberland save for Joseph Amonnett from Pickett County, who started for Wake Forest and played with Tim Duncan. Galilee
Saw TK in the state last year and he does have game. I don't think he would avg. 40 here in Memphis. Playing against Memphis quickness every time you hit the court is hard. If he was at East he would get a lot of playing time but I am not sure he would start over Lomax or Moss. Both will be Major D-1 players. That is about the only team here where he would not start.

He might not start over them but would def give them a run for their money. Key had bigger offers than ISU but I think he chose immediate playing time over a bigger name. Lomax is talented but I think his size hurts him like Darius Garland. They have time to grow but it will hurt them at bigger schools if genetics has other plans.
