Nice work by the Science Hill. Studs of the East.

I wouldn't count out THS just yet. They have a knack of showing up in the post season, remember last season when SH stompped them in reg season then THS reversed that result, twice.

SH won it tonight on two pivotal matches 160 and the 195 match which actually occurred @ 220 after both wrestlers were bumped up. I don't see SH duplicating the 220 match, Spangler didn't look himself tonight. The 60 match could go either way. Swap those two and the match goes to TN 33-30.

Should make Region Duals exciting. Loved the set up that the THS folks put together tonight. One of the best matches I've seen in a long time and it has developed into a great rivalry. Wrestling is relevant again in East Tennessee!

well, Arlington had a chance to prove it earlier and didn't get it done, maybe they would like another shot? But people like you are the reason i will enjoy the smackdown bradley or cleveland will administer in a few weeks at the duals.

I do think its Cleveland/Bradley way ahead in first/second with rest way behind in a jumbled mess. right now i would think its science hill/tn high/SD/arlington/WC. soddy i dont think is the third best team in state or AAA just not strong enough from 1-14, they would however finish in top 8 in state if they allowed 3 from region 4 go to state. Glad to see the west and east of the state getting stronger, since 1998 brad/sd/cleveland have won 16 state duals titles while the rest of the state has won 2 Clarksville 2000, Franklin-2005. clevel/sd/brad have finished first and second 6 times in that period and what i could find the two teams from the chattanooga area has never finished less than 4th, so there is a reason why they get the benefit when rankings come out, once the rest of the state starts catching up reguarly they will also.

Cobra- I think everyone in the state KNOWS that BC and Cleveland are by far the 2 best teams in the state this yr. Both should obviously run through everyone else on the way to a well anticipated finals showdown. I know the other 14 coaches would probably never say this to their teams or anyone else for that matter, but they should know by now that they are wrestling for third place this yr. There will be 14 coaches around the state praying that their team draws anyone but BC or Cleveland in the first rd. Whomever finishes in third this year will have coached their team to the best of it's ability and should be very happy to have finished third, "if" they coach with their brain and not their heart.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
