gobobcatd
That is my concern. 90% of greenbrier boys only wrestle from November to February!! There are a few that participate off season. Would love for more of them to do the same!! Good luck to all!! GO BOBCATS!!

FargoStrut
Sycamore got DESTROYED by Hixson in the consi-finals about 5 yrs ago. But you're correct Booger, it's been a while since middle/west TN has been on the podium in small schools.

Hamblin
Hey Fargostrut. What were you doing the day my Sycamore team got destroyed by Hixson in the consolation finals? That's right friend I was the head coach of that program then. Leaving the politics of why I am no longer there behind I will state a few facts about my team then. Our school board had a policy stating we could not travel more than 150 miles in any one direction. I was handcuffed three different ways because I was not permitted to travel to where the tougher small school competition was and I could not travel into Kentucky to wrestle so our fate was sealed. Thirdly, I was not permitted to take my kids to camps outside of Tennessee. If you were to look at our schedule then you would see that I scheduled as many tough local teams that I could. I am going to sit and wait for you, in all your infinite wisdom, to tell me how you have helped your local program besides sitting behind a screen name and running your mouth about things in which you have zero knowledge! FargoStrut
Coach Hamblen, I was not trying to bash you or the Sycamore program that you were at a few years ago. I do not know anything about the Cheatham Co. school board or their policies, but I do think you are a very good wrestling coach and will do some great things at Goodpasture when you get enough kids. And I believe you probably did schedule as many tough teams as you were allowed. I was simply stating a fact that it's been abt 5 years since a middle/west TN team has been on the podium in A/AA and if you don't think the score that day was "just a little lopsided", then we can disagree on that part. I will gladly introduce myself to you this weekend or at the next youth tournament, whichever is first. Keep up the good job at Goodpasture. Hamblin
If you look back on a few earlier comments I said "who" you wrestle during the season goes a long way towards where you end up at seasons end, and yes it was a lopsided loss. No need to rub it in specially by a fellow region 6 guy who has supported your program and your coach. I won't be at duels. I will be at Page. FargoStrut
Hamblen,You are exactly correct in that who you wrestle during the regular season goes a long way during state duals. I DEFINITELY was NOT trying to "rub it in". Your team that season is the only middle/west TN team to place in A/AA in several years. I wasn't trying to insult you, your coaching ability, or your team that season. My comment could/should be taken as a compliment instead of a derogatory statement (I'll leave out the BOLD next time).Guess I'll talk to you at the next AAU youth tournament. Hamblin
I'm not insulted. On the other hand the kids that fought that day may be. Wasn't their fault the rules were what they were. Things in that county are different now. When I interviewed at Greenbrier the next year the handcuffs would have been even tighter. I understand they still are. More kudos to the coaching staff. Hamblin
Booger. It's a sore subject for me because of the time I invested and money of my own spent to get something going there just to have a couple others force me out, then step in and destroy it. For what you ask? Who knows but they have both destroyed something good and one of them keeps leaving wreckage everywhere he goes. He knows who he is.
