Northview is good! I think they could win it if they stay healthy and consistent throughout. Cosby is district 2's only other chance for a win. We are tough to beat at home this time of year but that would be our only advantage. We are pretty solid defensively just dont score very much. That being said as much as i would love to see us pull off the upset im afraid cloudland will be too much for us even at home.

S. Greene is def the favorite but i think N.V. or Hampton either could upset em with the right break or two.

I don't see Hampton being able to upset SG this year. SG won by 20 in the district championship game without their starting PG and Miss Basketball finalist in foul trouble most of the game. Sg also beat them by 11 at Hampton and won by 33 at home.

How much better is NV this year than last year when North Greene beat them by 19 pts in the Semis? Still not sold on Northview Academy

You will be hosting Unaka and then playing the semi finals at Chuckey-Doak.

Havent personally seen Hampton play ive just seen where they have kept a couple games with SG close for a while which tells me that there is at least the possibility of an upset.

NV is much better than they were last season. They actually have seniors on this team that have played together for a while and a couple of Sophs that can really get it done. They have about 7 different girls that can really shoot the 3 and they have decent size. If you can beat their press you can score on em though but they will pressure the ball all night. I really think they will be the second best team in the region behind SG.

Should be with 700 kids

more like 850 but thats beside the point. TSSAA put em in 1A this is their last season in 1A we just have to deal with it. While i agree it isnt fair to have a school that size in 1A they had to start somewhere. When they started playing 4 years ago and only had 200 freshmen where should they have been?

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
