Subject: Jamboree meeting 4.30.2014

 

The jamboree will be held at Whitwell High School on August 15th @ 6:00 PM CST.  The cost of admission will be $6.00.  I am unsure if we agreed this price would be for everyone or discount for children.  Coach Helton will determine if a hospitality room will be set up or a certain amount of tickets will be given to the coaches to visit the concession stand.  Coach Helton will be sending out a jamboree schedule in early June.  This will give him the opportunity to locate to the area and have time to sufficiently look at all concerns. 

Coach Ross mentioned finishing up the rotation we are currently in, please see below, and afterwards it would go in alphabetical order starting in 2018.  
 

2009 - Grundy County
2010 - South Pittsburg

2011 - Sequatchie County

2012 - Marion County

2013 - Grundy County (Bledsoe County was unable to host and it was agreed they would switch with Grundy County in 2015)

2014 - Whitwell

2015 - Bledsoe County (Bledsoe County was unable to host and it was agreed they would switch with Grundy County in 2015)

2016 - South Pittsburg

2017 - Sequatchie County

 

It was also stated that if a school missed its opportunity to host the jamboree for construction or any other reason that school could not switch with another school.  That school would lose its opportunity and would host when the rotation came around to them in the following years.
2018 - Bledsoe County
2019 - Grundy County

2020 - Marion County

2021 - Sequatchie County

2022 - South Pittsburg

2023 - Whitwell

Look at the post from Bill's notes last year PP68.   Bill notes the alphabetical order rotation begins next year.  ???

I guess I was wrong on the year. Good for us though we get it one year earlier than I thought. I did hear that the skills competition probably wouldn't happen. I hope it does.

      From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated

      Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
