KC is loaded bringing in players from everywhere and still playing in the Public system .. it's a joke.. they get to play a team that should be in their division .. Baylor probably a very disciplined team like Maryville so if KC does their usual 2 or 3 unsportsmanlike and 2 or 3 personal fouls .. should keep Baylor in game .. like I said KC is loaded 4 or 5 D1 guys and players from all over Knox Co and Grainger and East Knox and Indiana and Kentucky .. so they are stacked .. I was looking at the Tennessean paper and it listed top 10 teams mid state.. Wow it's loaded .. Brentwood Academy ( KC plays in the season cause no one in Knox Co will play cause they stayed public) . ensworth .. no wonder KC chickened out from going Private and probably the only private in state to do so .. Good Luck Baylor they are LOADED

My god Tadvols, please go and cry somewhere else.  You have been told 50 times why Catholic stayed public.  They can't travel to Memphis and Nashville during the school week for basketball, softball, tennis and all the other sports they participate in.  If they could play private schools locally it would be different. You are such a crybaby all the time.  We know how you feel you have told us several times in every thread you post in.

Tadvols I normally appreciate your insightful posts. I know you're still a little salty about a player coming from Fulton to join the Irish but PLEASE don't act like the Falcons have never had a player that was zoned elsewhere attend. Good programs and coaches attract players as we both can agree. I think the reason teams in Knox county don't want to play us is the success of the football team. The last time we played Webb and CAK , we beat them pretty bad. If I had a middleschooler that was going to excel at football, I would certainly take a good look at the Irish. One of the top teams in the state, great coaches, facilities, exposure to college programs and not to mention academics - what's not to like? We don't have problems scheduling games in every other sport so the public vs. private doesn't hold water with me.

I don't think our recruiting budget allows for too many out of state trips. LOL

Considering Webb had won 5 of the past 6 meetings I don't think the reason we stop playing was because of a 24-6 loss. I don't want to get into any of this because you'll have your stance and everyone else will have theirs and it's pointless. Catholic is playing in 5A for whatever reason and they have the people on the schedule they have.

I really just want to talk about this particular matchup because I think this could be a great game.

I give Baylor's secondary the slight edge over Catholics WR's. However the offensive line for catholic looks to be loaded. Baylor will have to stop the run to stay in this game.

What does Catholic bring to the table defensively?

Should be a great game. Don't sell Catholic's receiving corps short. Bussell has offers from SEC and Big Ten. Blakely has committed to Miami of Ohio. There are also some others that have paid their dues behind Kuerschen and Rogers (who are getting work with the 1s with Tulane and Clemson). Also I was impressed with our running game. QB play was solid for a first start.

Defensively we are replacing over half of our starters so we are young but plugging in those OL give us huge defensive front. Should have grown up some vs. Maryville. Unfortunately had 2 TOs that gave Maryville ball in the red zone putting the defense in a bad spot. Clean up the penalties and we should be fine.

Well then the Baylor secondary versus the Catholic Passing game should be one for the ages. Baylor obviously has Brendon Harris (4Star Committed to Tennessee) and Jaylon Baker (fielding offers from Jacksonville State, UTC, among others).

Last time these two teams played I believe was 2008 and Catholic won on a two point conversion 22-21 I believe.

Catholics playing Maryville, BA, and Baylor shows they believe they are elite and can play with anyone. Kudos to them. We will see how it goes. At worse I think Catholic goes 7-3 this season with losses to those teams (I don't think Rhea even with Pemperton has enough to beat them this year) At best I say 8-2. Someone has to actually beat BA before I believe they can. Regardless after playing this competition Catholic will be ready for the 5A playoffs as I'm not sure any 5A school will be better than the 3 the three out of conference teams they play.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
