While all the normal bats are sleeping,I was just thinking about the great talent that Alcoa will not have tonight.I'm in no position to throw stones because I'm not perfect myself and in no way is this my intent.I have not done a lot of reading about the young man that was the 3A player of the year last year and for what ever reason isn't on the Alcoa team."  My question " does anyone know if  the young man going to be able to use his talent at the next level and get an education that will help him for the next several decades.Once again,I don't know any details or do I care, that's not for me to know.I just wonder if he will have a chance to move on in life and use this great talent he has.If this is taboo,I understand and I absolutely do not mean any harm  to anyone ,I just hate to see things not work out for any young person

He is looking to Graduate early and be at Texas Santonio University for spring practice. I wish him the best of luck!

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
