I read all the db forums and usually say nothing but I graduated from there last year and played football and although I might be biased I do not think that pass interference should have been called. Yes, the corner did have his right hand and arm on the right side of the body of the Alcoas receiver but it didn't disadvantage him from making the catch. It was good positioning and he broke up the pass. If I'm the ref and it's the deciding play of the game and it's a 50 50 call I don't call it. Corners play receivers like that all the time in high school college and NFL and I'dsay 8 out of 10 times it isnt called

Well, I probably wouldn't have called any of the penalties on Alcoa either. Alcoa still wins! :thumb:

True, it doesn't change anything .I seen some that went against Alcoa early and thought they could have been wrong and we all seen that one push off. That's just part of it and I think it ended up being fairly equal when it was over. There is a problem at DB and it's not the refs or the players. This was much more noticeable at Greeneville when the Devils didn't have an answer in the first half with DB's size and DB didn't score in the 2nd.This game was just a classic to watch and someone was going to be heartbroken either way.

Agreed! :flower: Thought there were a couple of DB scores that should have been blown dead at the line of scrimmage. However, you gotta play till the whistle.... 28-10 Alcoa in the second half says it all.

Is anybody going to start a DB/Farragut thread?   DB has dominated this one the last few years....   are the Ads for real?     Can they come up to the Fred and sneak away with a W?

Probably better luck for the Tribe not to talk about it.I thought they would win easily last week and said Farragut looks very beatable. Both I think are dead on.I'm telling you, this is a somewhat down year in 6a and DB with all it's problems could still make a deep run.Had they made the changes I wanted a few years ago,I would be as confident for my son's team and all the athletes that would be playing as I am for my Devils.Exactly why I thought they could win it all years ago.Didn't even know 6a would be down a little just knew what the possibilities were with the players in the system.I've had many arguments with YES men on here about the talent .Now,I don't have a dog in the race and I've beat that dead horse to death about all those kids that could be helping but I'm telling you a once very sure thing to me is still very possible if a couple of folks can keep their heads out of their az for the first time in playoff history.

    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
    • during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
    • What do ya’ll think the O/U will be? I would set the line at 2.5
    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
