Good season for SD and with Hixson's issues (0-10) they could potentially get some athletes from that area who may otherwise be at Hixson. Saw them in a scrimmage and thought their biggest issue might be overall quickness compared to other large schools.

Yeah, they definitely don't have any kids who scare you to take it the whole way when they touch the ball. Have some pretty good athletes, but no eye openers by any stretch of the imagination. The Boeck kid is a good player, but he was stuffed by our D pretty good tonight. Their overall team speed doesn't really scare you.

Hixson is about 10 minutes down the road, BTW. Always has a load of athletes in football and basketball.

I live in Hixson and hope their athletes stay put They do have the athletes in those two sports but really they haven't advanced in the post season in either sport.

If they have great athletes why are they horrible in football? Coaching?

Not an expert on Hixson even though I live a mile or two from the high school. They have had many head coaches the last dozen years or more. Most of the coaches were good but just didn't stick around long. 

Now this is JUST MY OPINION, the community as a whole doesn't get excited for the program like they do at Red Bank and Soddy. I often wear yellow and black Hixson shirts and hat but not many people see them and want to talk football. I wear my Big Ed's shirt and many people say something about it. I will probably get killed for this but I have heard of white athletes going to Soddy but that was years ago

Maybe Indian will set me straight if I am wrong. I do mostly go to Hixson baseball games to enjoy the spring weather.

Good win tonight. Great job Cats.  Congrats to West  High Rebs.  Tough place to get a win down there at RC, good team, great fans.   Heavy weight showdown next Fri. night at the Ship.

I tweeted Herbert and he said, "I am hurting right now but I will be back." Keep in mind he will go to the trainers this morning and they could find out it is more serious than Herbert thinks. Just say prayers.

Sounds like someone is talking Hixson players changing schools for athletic reasons. Guess OR will just have to play with what we have. This open zone and moving within large metro areas puts us isolated folks behind the eight ball. Oh well.

I didn't say they should. I don't back either of those schools. I mostly meant entering 9th graders but regardless it doesn't seem too difficult to end up elsewhere in Chattanooga. I believe Red Bank got six from Tyner in one season a few years back.
