Now that is not fair to say , little sister is not better than big sister, that's a fact (at same age or whatever). There will never be another basketball player with Akira skill set for a long time if ever period, regardless of what biased observations we may hear.

Did you see Akira play at 13?  Akira herself will tell you Aiyana is better than she was at that age.

Yep at Rickman! Seems like u might be involved in the local school political agenda . Don't get brain -washed. Let the kids decide it on the court between themselves without added pressure . The spectators know and see the tallent and see through the smoke.

What exactly is the local school political agenda???  Have you seen Aiyana play?  I have been a spectator at many of UHS and UMS games.  I am not saying Aiyana will be just like her sister.  All I am saying is that Aiyana is a very talented, special player too.

Being better at age 13 doesn't mean she'll be better or even equal at age 17.  I laugh when I read comments about current grammar school or middle school kids who are destined to be highly recruited by the top teams in the nation when they're about to graduate high school. I've read many predictions over the years on here about these future superstars, but I'm still waiting to see it happen. This is not a knock on these young ladies, but it is a knock on delusional fans and parents who don't have a clue what it takes to be recruited by teams like the Lady Vols.

Who mentioned anyone being recruited by the Lady Vols???  I know four years ago people were saying the same the same thing about Akira and she proved them all wrong.  You obviously didn’t see any Upperman Middle games this year or you would agree that Aiyana is extremely talented and has the same style of play.  You would have also seen another point guard, Crouch, that can flat play.

How did the Upperman girls finish in the Middle School state tournament?

No you said basically "she will be better".and I am calling u out on it. I am sure Upperman hope she is too. That will mean she should win 3 miss basketball awards, take her team to state tournament all 4 years and we won't get into gold and silver balls. Now don't go and say she does not have the supporting cast as her older sister did because the cast is probably better. Now "what is your final statement"? Like I said it is not fair to the kid( little sis,big sis) or the fans to make that statement, cause that is a very big statement.

My exact words were that she is better than Akira was at that age.  Meaning if you compare Akira at age 13 and Aiyana at 13, Aiyana is better.  Which makes perfect since to me considering she’s been watching and practicing with big sister all of these years.  Maybe I’ll be wrong.  Sure hope not.  I won’t say she doesn’t have the supporting cast Akira had.  Upperman will be loaded with talent for the next several years and won’t be going away anytime soon!   I’m still wondering what the local school political agenda is?

Exactly what is her skill set?  Everybody talks about her skills, but what does she do other than drive right, shoot a layup, or kick the ball out to a shooter?  She can't go left, she doesn't play defense, and she's not a great outside shooter, but you talk about her like she's the second coming of Candace Parker

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
