Jinx is broken! Very good showing for region 1. They WILL have at least 1 team in the quarter finals. DB will have to play their best game of the year (which may not be good enough) to get by Central. Central brings all aspects of the game at you. There was a huge speed difference in Central and Cocke Co.

Speed is not how Central will eliminate Boone, it is the fact they have a stout line on both sides that just wears you down by the end of the game, and we just can't make mid-game adjustments.     The game plan will go something like this:    Central will not play a safety, nobody will be deeper than 5 yards from the LOS.   In other words, they will sell out to stop Boone's run game.     Boone will continue to pound into the wall unsuccessfully, because that's what the game plan calls for.    About midway through the 4th Q, when Central is ahead 38-10, Boone will realize "Hey, we could fake a handoff and sneak a tight end behind the linebackers, a short pass over the top and there is nothing but green between him and the goal line".

But to your first point, YES!!    R1 goes 3-1 for the first time I can remember.    And R1 is guaranteed a spot in the quarters, how cool is that.     In the end it will be either Central, Oak Ridge or Fulton going to Cookeville, but it is still good to see R1 chipping away at it..

We saw this game plan before, Gibbs ran the ball like they never intended to win the game, just keep the score down and run the clock. They never went away from it. Our lines of scrimmage average over 300 lbs, but move very well. We have enough depth to rotate them every couple of plays and keep them fairly fresh. Not saying DB will stick to this kind of game plan, just going on Blazer's thoughts.
