Oakland has had its way with most everyone they faced this season except Maryville. Blackman has played well against good competition and shown they can't be taken too lightly. This game will have plenty of folks "laying the wood "on either side of the ball.  While Oakland has been so talented and well coached, they come into this game with several starters hurt or out, Blackman on the other hand is healthy with just  a few bruises and scratches.  That being said what  are your thoughts on how this game shakes out? Will the injuries on Oakland side give Blackman any help? Is it enough to matter? I personally think the Blaze are playing better ball every week and should make a game of it. Especially if all the offensive weapons are working.

So i was updated on injury list and Wilson is questionable and Meyers will likely play. However I did forget that aside from Justin Jefferson being out, Aaron Moore is also out. In Kreager's picks, he mentioned that Oakland was battle tested while Blackman was not. I might be off, but who Other than Maryville has Oakland been tested with? Independence (flip the coin) ranked 27th in the state and not very consistent. Republic (enough said) and Riverdale who is young and struggling to put together a team  all three have losing records . On the other hand Blackman has faced Hendersonville 4-1 ranked 10th Smyrna  former top 10 still top 20 Florence Alabama #17 in 7A Alabama  and Coffee county(no benefit) Siegel  I think they may be sleeping on Blackman a little. No doubt we will have to have a great game and execute well, but I think little to no credibility is being given to the offensive options and the fact that the defense limited one of the states top backs in Watkins to under 100 yds and allowed 148 yards total offense I think the defense may be slightly under rated. Of course I am picking my Blaze I always do... but I believe they have the tools to get the job done

Consider the source...

Blaze it's Game day!!!    Gentlemen, 48 minutes, 2,880 seconds....will help define this season tonight. Yes, it is about the team but it is also battles being won on the individual level.... it is about being better than the man lined up in front of you  play after play after play.  There is no time for tired or hurt. Everything...Everything ....I mean everything has to be left on the field. If you have the energy to run off the field after it is over, you cheated yourself, and your team. Everyone wants to be a champion, but are they prepared to fight like one? Ask yourself, am I prepared? Am I ready to win every single snap? Can I be perfect for 48 minutes? We are about to find out what your heart says about you . What it says about this team. this brotherhood, who will be lifelong friends. Can you honor, your teammates with every ounce of effort? Your school, your family?  It is time to silence doubters and Strap 'em up...strap it on ......and bring this W back to the inferno!

Lets Go Blaze!!

Good luck Blaze. As always, hoping for a great game and an injury-free game for both sides. I'm sure we won't be disappointed.

Thanks Ozone03... it will be a battle for sure. It has been a long dry spell for the Blaze and would love to see that broken. God bless and Good luck to you all.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
