I see York beat Monterey by 11. Looking at the schedule York goes to Clay county Saturday. This will be a test for York.

York was ahead 14-0 before Monterey scored and got ahead 20-2. Their biggest lead was by 22. But then they resorted to their old playground out of control basketball of they didn't play last year. Monterey cut it to 7 or 8 and if they played a few more minutes Monterey would have won. Why isn't Anthony Jones coaching? He had them playing disciplined ball last year.

DC 1-4..... They look awful and asleep most games in a zone press and 2-3 in half court. They have been weak with the ball at every position but the point guard play has been atrocious with a negative assist to turnover ratio. Way too many turnovers without creating enough easy looks for others. Generally the team seems undisciplined on both ends of the floor, they force the ball into the post without the post effectively sealing, lack movement away from the ball, poor screening, bad reads on cuts, etc.

The good news is that they can't play much worse and should have won 2 of the 4 they lost. Once Poss is back, they should have a pretty balanced approach offensively with 4 players that can score in double digits. Hopefully we shift to a pressure man defense soon. That will improve our energy level, create a few more turnovers and allow better match-ups on the glass to box out. I think they can finish in the top 3 with some changes in style and intensity or in the bottom 3 without.

If they played the 1st half of WC and JC like they played the 2nd half, they win both those games. There are about 3-4 that look like they come to play and 2-3 seem to turn it on for a while, then coast for a while..  They need to learn to play together,

I'm more of a Football guy than basketball guy but really enjoy watching basketball.  Have been to every game so far this season. Full of ups and downs. I really enjoyed the last coach Martin,  but thought a breathe of fresh air with Sanders would be good for the boys. I'm really having 2nd thoughts.  I agree with u others guys comments about not looking organized at all and very undisciplined.  It's early in the season so i won't get carried away too early. District season starts this week, lets wait till the 1st half of district is over before i jump to conclusions. Have a better overall team assessment by Christmas. Subbing pattern is eratic, boys dont always come to play with passion and seem like we are playing to many guys. Maybe he's trying to figure out who can play or not.  Hopefully we can turn it around this week.  Go Tigers. Tiger Pride

A team typically takes on the personality of its coach. One thing Martin definitely brought was an intensity level. They and the coach have lacked that so far.

I agree on too many playing and substitution patterns. It definitely would be easier to get in a flow with 7-8 in a rotation instead of 10. Now that districts are here hopefully we will see the player experimentation end.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
