Probably the player that played at West last year. Or could be someone else that doesn't live in their zone. It's rampant in Knox County.

Hopefully, if this is true( I still don’t think it has any merit), they self reported it. I am sure it is something as simple as clerical error. Nobody would put their kids in this position knowingly.

Are you serious?  Do you think all coaches check all of their players addresses. Remember this is Knox County. Home of the chosen few open zone high schools.

I don’t know what coaches do. I do hope they put kids first. I don’t know of any open zone high schools in Knox Cty.

The timing just seems off to me. Why bring it up now?? No why Powell self reported with them 6-1.

Well you said clerical mistake? Ha! Coaches don't keep up with their players. Where they live doesn't matter. Principal let's them in the school, there eligible.  That's the way Knox County plays it. Knox County administration has bigger fish to fry. You know politics and school board, and budgets, and elections etc. Just as long as a few of our schools are competing and winning championship then we are OK. TSSAA sometimes gets it right. I don't know if this is on of those times.                                                     I will tell you who coaches keep up with. They keep up with players who used to play for their team, and now play for another team. And that team is the team we play this week in a region game and the player that used to play for us just made player of the game on TV for the team he now plays for. That's who coaches keep up with.                        I say nothing comes of this. AD will cook the books and Knox County will take care of it's own and it will just be a rumor.               Remember the assistant principal and the star player and the UT head coach. Same song different verse. Maybe it's time for some new computers in North Knox County.

ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT

• Knox County Schools (KCS) includes fourteen high schools and fourteen middle schools offering opportunities for student participation on athletic teams. The middle schools participate in basketball, track and field, and cheerleading. The high school program consists of seventeen varsity teams per school competing in eleven sports in addition to cheerleading.
  
  Each high school has an athletic director who supervises and administers the local school athletic program. All coaches are hired at the local school level. Prospective coaches should read our New Coaches page for information and then contact the local high school athletic director for specific vacancies. All high schools are members of Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA).
  
  The interscholastic sports programs offer an opportunity for participation in a variety of activities, which are a vital part of a student’s educational experience. Participation is a privilege that carries with it responsibilities to the school, sport, other students, the community, and to the athletes themselves.Participation in interscholastic sports in the Knox County School System is entirely voluntary. The opportunity to participate is extended to all eligible students.
