Tee had accepted a job at Louisville.  He had other programs lining up for his services because he's a great recruiter, but nobody wanted him as OC.  He's back at UT because we offered him more money than the rest.  We will probably be able to keep doing that for a few years, at least.  Nobody's going to make him OC unless they just want him there for recruiting purposes.

You stole the words right out of my math. Tee's an elite recruiter, good, if not great WR coach, but not a very good OC.

I could see some reputable power 5 football program eventually give Tee, simply because of his elite recruiting, a nominal co-OC title (like USC did), where he doesn't really control the offense.

Games at Bill Meyer are some of my fondest childhood memories. I'll never forget seeing Michael Jordan and getting Andruw Jones' autograph as a youngster. Players had to walk through the concourse to get from the locker rooms to the dugouts, so there was a lot more fan interaction. Over by the left field bullpen you could hang out and chat with guys in the bullpen. It's not like that anymore. In the 90's if you showed up early to Braves games you could both watch batting practice and hope to catch a ball, and still have time to get autographs down by the dugouts. Now they charge extra, I believe, to get their early for BP and very very few players sign. This interaction between fans and players was a special, unique aspect of baseball that has been lost, as ratings and participation in the sport are dropping.

Ahhh, back in the good old Single A days of Catlick when they played at Evans-Collins

Bill Satterfield’s Cherokees used to pound the Irish twice a year, every year.

One time in a radio interview with Glen Morton, coach was asked how his team would react when the Irish brought a large crowd to a playoff game at Greenback in 1987...

Coach said “I don’t care if they bring the Pope with them, they are not leaving here with a win.”

THAT was classic Bill Satterfield.

Catholic moved to Double AA for a few years. They moved back to Single A my junior year 91/92 and old Wild Bill hated Catholic. The Saturday before we played Catholic, Coach Satterfield was on the radio show that all the area coaches would attend. The interviewer asked coach what he thought the outcome would be and Coach asked the guy " pick a number between 50 and 100" the gentleman replied and Bill said " that is how much we will beat them by". Needless to say it was one heck of a week of practice. We jumped on them 45-0 in the first half and I thought us starters wouldn't see the field in the second half. Instead he put us in, we ran it up about 20 more points, then he pulled us. My entire 4 years playing for him he never ran it up on anyone ever, except the Irish. He truly hated them and their coach.
