IMO except for the top AAA and AA teams, this division appears to be down this year overall compared to the last couple of years. A looks pretty weak

Without any research, my guess is Friendship Christian will be a top team in the state in A this year.  I don't think they lost a lot of seniors. I'm not sure about Davidson, I think their top 3 recruits were seniors.

Yes, usj did drop down from division 2 AA to D 2 A. They had a drop of a fraction of a percentage point over 20% thus allowing them to petition to drop in class. If my calculations are correct that fraction of a percentage equals out to about three or four students. But if you look at the roster for this year I will be willing to bet that there isn't a 20 percent drop in the number of athletes participating. Nothing illegal but it is working the numbers in every which way to their advantage. Just shaking the bush boss.

I agree that Friendship Christian will be one of the favorites. I do strongly disagree with the way the TSSAA draws up the playoff bracket for football. As an example, it would be ridiculous for a team such as tipton-rosemark, which is in the extreme western part of the state, to have to travel and play a first-round playoff game on the East End of the state. I feel the brackets should be drawn up to where you have an East vs West just like in division 1. However, apparently some people including the TSSAA think that all private schools must have an unlimited travel budget and can afford to do things like criss-crossing the state for travel. Just my opinion

A is weak. USJ still won’t see a title even in A. Just like TCA won’t see a title.

I agree Ed. It is my opinion that Friendship Christian is the prohibitive favorite to win the class a title.

I agree- DA was loaded last year and could have played with lots of teams-this year that class is down-AA has some good players but CPA lost a ton of seniors as did Lausanne

Until provin wrong, Davidson Academy out of Nashville will be the team to beat in the "west". Jmo
