Any teams surprise during summer?

East is going to be good this year, just not like the East of past years. That district won't be that good, they can still that district with Murrell leaving. If Southside had another scorer, they would be pretty decent. Outside of the #11, where is there consistent scoring gonna come from? Fayette Ware will be better than you think too, I think they as good as Southside if not better.

Wooddale the  best team in 2A hands down. Question though, who second in Memphis and in the state?

Wooddale should be ranked #1 come the start of the season. They should be really good but I wouldn't crown them yet. Last year they proved they were the cream of the crop in 2AA. I personally believe that 6 to 8 teams could win 2AA this year. It's all about match-ups in tournament time and who's playing good at the end of the year.

I told people last year, they would win, even when it was popular to pick Raleigh Egypt and other schools , I told guys Wooddale wasn't losing and would be state champions. 2 reasons, they make you play their style of basketball whether you like to get up and down or not and they have a really good coach and it seems like those kids play really hard for him. They also have the best player in 2A and 2 of the better shooters in the state with Miles and Duncan and they added a 6'9 kid who is going to be pretty good and he only a 10th grader.

Honestly and this might sound weird, they might be as good as last year.

What teams do you think have a chance?

Well if Wooddale added a 6'9 kid then that makes it much tougher for everyone else. That would make Wooddale the big favorite for sure and I stand corrected. However, I don't think they will have anyone close to the skill level of Chandler Lawson next year.  Didn't notice this 6'9 kid last year at the state Tournament? Transfer?

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
