No match.   Wave was impressive

Gallatin's defense was impressive . I was there a little over and hour and CPA had 2 first downs by passing and negitive yards rushing via sacks. CPA was bigger up front than Gallatin . Gallatin shot themselves in the foot on drives with 1 fumble and a center over the QB head for about a 20 yd loss. Also numerous holding penalties and illegal procedure penalties that killed drives. This new coach seems to have the boys playing hard. Biggest thing I noticed from last year team very few if not any missed tackles . I was very impressed !

Defense is tough for sure.  Still a ways to go and improvements to be made but overall it was a good performance by the Wave.   CPA did not look like the teams of past but they definitely were not a pushover either.  Coaching staff for Gallatin has done a great job preparing these kids and it looks like everybody is having a good time.  Kids were talking and congratulating each other after plays and the difference is apparent.  Lot to look forward to, just need to continue on and get better.   Looks like they have settled on a QB and the passing game is starting to come around.  Defensively....wow!!

CPA was the D2-AA champ. Which IMO makes the scrimmage performance of Gallatin even more impressive.

All this talk about HB ( whose overrated at times)  being one of the better teams in 5A and Gallatin is doing this to champions sounds very good for them going forward.

It definitely sparked some interest. CPA has done very well since going D2. We will really know what they are made of next Friday when Oakland (IMO the best team in this state, period) comes into the Waveyard for the Jamboree.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
