Signal Mtn @ Red Bank

It was 14 to 7 early in 4th and RB took advantage of SM attempting to comeback by adding to more scores late including a pick 6.  The game was much closer than the 28 -7 final score.  15 for RB is a big quick back not super fast but very elusive and can catch as well.  1 and 2 were good receivers and could catch running the slant when the QB could set up and throw.  SM has a very good LB crew and good secondary.

I'm sure my Eagles will play hard to the final whistle, but I'm afraid this one is going to get ugly quick. Red Bank is the real deal this year if they execute to their abilities.:hungry:

What makes them so much different than the real deal team that got stomped last year by Upperman? Did they have a great bunch of 8th graders come in to make this such a better team than what they had last year? Just asking!

Always have good athletes. New coaching staff has instilled more discipline, better work ethic, playing better as a team.

After seeing how they beat Soddy and then came from behind to beat Ooltewah, I was expecting more from them. After seeing them in person for a full game, I'm not as impressed, but they still have a lot of potential. Offensive line seems to be a weakness and still some lingering attitude/discipline issues.

In all fairness, though, Signal's defense is better than I realized, and our coaches had a good defensive scheme to slow their offensive attack.

I watched that Red Bank game on tv and this is the second week the offense seems to still be trying to click. They looked better against Soddy. If they can fix all the mistakes, they will be fine. The defense looked pretty good, but the offense is still working. I still think Red Bank is a better team than they way they played Friday night. Not sure of what lingering attitude and discipline he speaking, because the new coach is very strict about that.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
