So getting down by 21 Greenville coaches said “trash film” was the excuse? That just seems like an excuse for bad coaching during the week.

Who said it was an excuse? Thats right you did. The 21-0 was self inflicted mostly. That game should have been a blowout honestly and they proved that scoring 33-3

Greeneville had a lot of down years before Ballard arrived. Devils have been very spoiled by recent success. That being said, Greeneville still has every right to brag and be proud until someone dethrones them because until that time is Greeneville at the top and everyone fighting for 2nd

I don’t think you realize how long Coach Ballard was the OC at Greeneville before he got at the head coaching job.  Ballard has been at Greeneville since the early 2000’s and was the OC.  The 2007 Football Season when McCurry was hired and implemented a lot of what the Devils still do today (football weight lifting period, devil camp, game prep, etc.). That season the Devils went 10-3 and haven’t lost a conference game in over 10 years.  It was a mentality aspect.  When Tn went to 6 classifications that helps too

Since fall of 1977, the beginning of the Fred Sorrell era which represented solid football, GHS has had 5 losing regular seasons. One 2-8 and Four 4-6 seasons. There have been four 5-5 regular seasons.

44 football seasons during that period of time. Which leaves 35 winning seasons. Most of that time a school of 850 students representing itself well as a rule against much larger schools.
