FHS is a vastly improved team this season.  The next two weeks could show us how much improvement they’ve made.  MTP is legit!  FHS is too!  IMO MTP has not yet been tested by a team with the level of talent FHS will bring to the field this year.   FHS has played what I believe is a strong team in Huntland and prevailed.  The only prediction I will make is that this is going to be a great football game!  I hope the FHS Tiger players understand how good they can be if they play tough every down and listen to the coaches!

I hate to burst your bubble Camper Ninja, but as far as I know, only one or maybe two players transferred this summer--one from Alabama and one from across the river.  I wouldn't say that's loading up, but what do I know?

That may be true , and if so props to the new coach for completely turned around a 1-9 team in one off season. The rumor was several kids transferred there this off season when the new coach came from Bama. This years team is night and day from last season. but either way should be an exciting night. Both teams have special athletes , I think this one comes down to whos front line can get a better push all night.

The new coach should get props.  He has stalked the halls to find players and the students have responded.   This team is more than double the size it was a few years ago.   Fayetteville was fortunate to have a good man in Coach Palmer start the program and now Coach Morson will take the next steps on the foundation that was built.  I would agree that line play will be a major factor for the winning team.  This week seems to be passing at a snail's pace.  Friday night can't get here fast enough!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
