I've learned from the past it's best to not make a prediction when playing Maryville. They don't need any extra motivation.

Hey, I'm not predicting that we beat Maryville, just that a win by the Rebs will not be an easy task for them. I have too much respect for the Rebs to predict a win by DB.

Holy cow this team has Waco praising not only the coaches but the secondary. I would have thought that was less likely than creating plutonium with the cleaning supplies under your kitchen sink! Seriously, this team has played very, very well, and I have been impressed with the coaching too, especially the play calling.  If these Indians can avoid turnovers and penalties they may make some noise in the postseason.

I thought the same thing! It’s good to see though.

Going forward and if these coaches stay together , I just can't imagine them not winning a ring and bringing the Gold to Kingsport someday soon !

I mean it seems like everyone I talk to at games are in awe at the staff  and the heart of the players ... It's "one " of the smallest teams at DB that I have seen but their heart , dedication , skills , belief , speed ..... "I really could just keep going on and on ", but  this team is fun to watch execute and the QB is playing amazing !

Just last year I /we bashed and before this season started , i really was not excited ... During that TN High game I seen a lot of change from last year , change that normally takes a few years to produce a great team but these players have bought in and believed in these coaches .........

I guess hiring 2 previous DB / D1 players to coach where it's been needed the most , to hire one of the best Coaches/ Asst. coach out of Virginia will change things quickly  ... I mean play calling  to making adjustments are on point !

I seen Foreman and Swafford at the game tonight ... Great to see those to still at the hip !

I agree.  Great things are happening.  But a ring at this point is a stretch. I've been there before.  Over-excited only to be disappointed in playoffs. Don't let it happen to you.

Even my comments about Maryville were a litte premature. Let's keep our focus on the next game.

Congrats on a big win last night. Glad to see the sleepy Giant has finally woken up in the Tri-Cities area. Really sick and tired of hearing about the band up there where football was once the king. Hopefully this new coach can get all that turned around where men are men and play football and goats play the piccolo to get into the ballgame free.

I just call them like I see them. Sometimes right sometimes wrong. I've been waiting for someone to dig up that post I made last year where I said this would be a 2 or 3 win season. I guess while I was feasting on Big Pals and sleeping late on weekends they were studying game film and hitting the weight room pretty heavy. Farragut players had the hands on the hips midway through the third quarter last night. DB didn't seem to get tired. They don't panic when the other team scores or hits a big play and they don't hide under a rock in the second half the way they have done in recent years. That's just really good coaching.

ThIs team reminds me of some Maryville teams, in that you don't see any major stars, yet the team just keeps clicking along. It's not about stars, it's about superior execution.  Those Maryville teams also rarely made any mistakes though (penalties or turnovers), which this team is still working on.

Working on it? Are you sure?

    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
